Finding time to train our front line leaders in aging services is hard. Afterall, organizations need them doing what they do best - coaching, engaging, and supervising their teams. But, we all know that leadership skills usually aren't innate; they need to be taught. Taking the time to set up our frontline leaders for success is important. The three big questions for Human Capital Management: 1. Where is our headcount? 2. Where is our overall skill level (average amongst the headcount)? 3. Where is our leadership quality level? The answers to these questions will give you the approach needed to determine where the HR team needs to guide the organization in the arenas of Talent Acquisition, Training/Development, Leadership Development, Performance Management, etc. Operational leadership must work with HR hand in hand to address shortcomings and areas of opportunity.
