Great achievements in the initial half of 2024 - Part 2 💚 2024 has already been an eventful year, marked by numerous successes across our markets. We look forward to the next half of the year and the great things awaiting us. Some of the great achievements: ➡ Inauguration of Windpark Lervik, Sweden ➡ Our Polish Country Manager and our Head of Biogas represented us at the Royal Galla in Warsaw, attended by Danish King Frederik. ➡ Finalised the first foundation of the 48 MW windfarm in Pecineaga, Romania. ➡ Eurowind Energy x Norlys Energy Trading A/S - ON ICE 🏒❄ ➡ Team Marburg, Germany received the permit for our Kilbe-Mitte project with 3 wind turbines V162-6.2 after a processing time of just one year ➡ Begun the processing of a green hydrogen plant in Extremadura, Spain. This is just a glimpse of the many exciting activities that have taken place over the past six months.

We are pleased to announce that our renewable hydrogen generation plant located in West Pomerania (Poland) has appeared on h2inframap 🗺 The map is showcasing concrete European hydrogen infrastructure projects and possibilities for transport routes and corridors 👏 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀: ✔ 1 GW of target installed capacity of hydrogen electrolyzers ✔ 100.000 tonnes of target annual production of renewable, green hydrogen ✔ At least 2 GW of installed RES capacity of hybrid onshore wind and solar farms dedicated to hydrogen generation. Already in 2023, the amount of electricity produced from RES in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship was higher than the demand of this region. The hydrogen technology is not sufficient to execute on the energy transition but it is a necessary one. This Post touches on three important points in that regard: 1) Moving energy in molecular form through pipelines is the cheapest way to move energy. Commitment for pipelines are needed for every large PtX project. 2) PtX is needed to stabilise the grid and expand the share of renewables. 3) Open communication needs to be held to explain concepts and logics of the hydrogen economy and find a common understanding.
Esbjerg is in an exclusive position to become a prominent player in Europe's hydrogen sector. This is a key topic of discussion at Energiens Folkemøde. In the face of volatile renewables, some question the feasibility of sustained energy security. At INNIO Group, in collaboration with RAG Austria AG, we're proud to showcase an innovative solution. Our Jenbacher hydrogen technology soon will generate power and heat at RAG's hydrogen cogeneration plant in Gampern, Upper Austria, with the transformation of green hydrogen from surplus wind and solar energy. As part of the commissioning of the world’s first 100% hydrogen storage facility in a porous underground reservoir – RAG’s “Underground Sun Storage” – up to 4.2 GWh of electricity produced in summer can be kept ready for winter in the form of green hydrogen. By integrating the entire value chain – from generation and conversion to storage and now supply – of green energy, this flagship project demonstrates what needs to and can be done for a successfull energy transition. Excellent news coming from Sweden, where OX2 and Ingka Investments are moving forward with the Neptunus hub, the new generation of #offshorewind farm. Beyond producing renewable energy and hydrogen, the project will also have a positive impact on the Baltic Sea, whose bottom waters will be refreshed with the oxygen resulted from the #hydrogenproduction. An idea which can be replicated, why not, in the Black Sea once the offshore wind production kicks off.
OX2 and Ingka Investments have submitted a permit application to construct the #offshore energy hub Neptunus off the coast of Blekinge in the south of #Sweden. The application is for up to 207 wind turbines, along with large-scale offshore #hydrogen production. - The energy hub Neptunus is one of the first of the next generation of wind farms. By producing renewable energy and hydrogen, Sweden will be able to secure energy for sectors that can’t be electrified. The oxygen from the hydrogen production can also be used to oxygenate the bottom water in the Baltic Sea and improve biodiversity, says Emelie Zakrisson, head of offshore wind development in Sweden, OX2.
