Great ideas aren't worth much. Here's why: For digital health — Evidence is KING. But most founders are wasting time and money on the wrong stuff. “...our fancy AI can empower...identify...enable...optimize...” Ok. Cool story, bro. Show me the data. Otherwise that's not worth much. But a dead-simple app. With rock-solid proof. For something buyers actually care about? Easily worth 10x more. Great digital health founders who actually build profitable products understand this equation. You can become a great one by starting with small-scale, exploratory research. You need daily iteration and validation for months. Not weeks. Get your research game on point. Today. Our crew at Manos Health just collaborated with Roche to show you how, with our "Build, Prove, Launch" framework. Check it out and let me know what you think.
In today's market, digital health startups often see research as costly and complicated, leading to a concerning lack of clinical research to support product claims. Brian Van Winkle, Sara Kuppin Chokshi, DrPH, Rishab Shah, Elyse Heob, MPH, MBA share a framework for making and planning research investments that can help digital health startups stay ahead of the curve. ➡ https://lnkd.in/d_tRseAY #roche, #digitalhealth, #healthcareinnovation, #healthcaretransformers

The new CB Insights Digital Health report is out. Here is a short summary: 1️⃣ #Europe is falling behind with the lowest deal share in past years of only 17%, compared to 61% of the #USA. 2️⃣ #Angel and #Corporate investing fell to a low of 6% and 13% respectively. We don’t expect corporate investment to pick up in the short term. They might better focus on creating strategic advantages and acquisitions. Good investors go anti-cyclical - so this could be a good time for Angels to be more active. 3️⃣ The number of #earlystage #funding has been down, from a stable 65% to 51% of total deals, for the first time since 2020. In Europe the share went from 74% down to 66%. 4️⃣ The time of #Unicorns is over and flat since 2022. There has been no new HealthTech unicorn this year. 5️⃣ The vast majority of exits remain M&A - making it almost the only realistic #exit scenario. Let's take those global numbers with caution. In the past #Switzerland has been more resilient, also in startup investments and especially in the #Healthcare industry, one of the backbones of the country. https://lnkd.in/e37r8Usc
