Climate change. Science can solve this. But it requires that we do not only rely on incremental improvements on existing technologies. Transformational scientific advancement has a critical role to play too. #atoco #climate change #climatedisruption #waterscarcity #carboncapture #decarbonization
At Atoco we’re taking action to solve one of the biggest challenges facing our planet: carbon emissions—that contribute to rising temperatures and climate change. Read more about our game-changing climate tech at https://lnkd.in/d-779Vve We’re doing this by leveraging advances in reticular chemistry and materials made by our founder Prof. Omar Yaghi. Put simply, these materials are manmade microscopic structures that can extract and store carbon dioxide and other molecules. With our novel solid state carbon capture technology, we can efficiently capture the emissions of carbon dioxide, both post-combustion (PCC) and directly from the atmosphere (DAC). Highly efficient, sustainable and scalable, the solutions based on these materials can lead to substantial and lasting reductions in the amount of carbon dioxide in our air—good news for our climate and the future generations who have to live with it. #CCUS #carboncapture #climatechange

🌟 Another great newsletter by Sightline Climate (CTVC) - link in comments. CTVC has asked their readers on key themes for 2024 in the #cleantech #netzero area. This is dominated by #US topics, but nonetheless insightful. My personal top 3: 1️⃣ Climate tech #funding will increase > of course 2️⃣ Will flat/down rounds increase (in cleantech #VC funding) > more likely than not 3️⃣ not part of the direct questions: Will the US have an impact on #European climate tech > very likely, i.e. result of presedential election and interest rate development Have a good year

Last week we were in Paris, as part of ACCIÓ's mission to VivaTechnology. We detected that companies, such as Airbus and EDF, and investment funds, like Google Ventures and Breakthrough Energy, are aware of the urgency to act in the current climate situation and the need to do so proactively. To this end, they consider it essential to implement a global policy to find high-impact solutions. But what are these solutions? Can we go beyond the capture and/or reduction of greenhouse gases? Opting for actual strategy will achieve climate solutions with minimal impact. If we seek to act in-situ on most of the Earth surface, the impact will be enormous. The application of a disruptive, transcendent, and global technology, like Aircure®Tech, would provide real solutions to solve and improve the economy and the planet in an accelerated way. Science already has these solutions. Why are they not being considered, and we have been making the same mistakes for decades? Major players should ask these questions before defining a new strategy to face the climate situation.

🌊 Exciting news from Planetary Technologies! We are thrilled to announce that we’ve secured $11.35 million in Series A funding, led by Evok Innovations, with support from BDC Capital (Canada), Amplify Capital, DNX Ventures, and Iconiq Capital. 🌱 This investment represents a major milestone in our mission to fight #climatechange through ocean-based carbon removal. By enhancing the ocean’s natural ability to absorb and store carbon dioxide, we aim to protect and restore both the #ocean and our climate for future generations. 💬 As our CEO, Mike Kelland, shared: "We’re most excited by the strong alignment that these investors have with our mission. This round enables us to continue leading the way on responsible, science-led development of a critical climate technology. Together, we are building a foundation that will allow us to achieve our vision of protecting and restoring both the ocean and climate for generations." With this funding, we’ll expand our pilot projects, scale operations, and continue demonstrating the safety and effectiveness of our Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement (OAE) technology. Collaborating with local communities, researchers, and regulatory bodies remains central to our work as we push forward solutions that are as sustainable as they are impactful. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. We’re excited about what’s next as we work together to create a healthier planet. 🌍 Read the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/eTFXxjgW #ClimateAction #mCDR #CarbonRemoval #Sustainability #PlanetaryTechnologies
