We are delighted to feature Ruth Wambui Wambugu in our GWNET Member Spotlight! Passionate about advancing sustainable energy, Ruth previously took part in the Women in Clean Cooking Mentoring Programme, which is run by GWNET, Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) and the Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA). As Membership & Partnerships Officer at the Clean Cooking Association of Kenya (CCAK), she remains committed to promoting clean cooking as a means to achieve equitable energy access and improve communal livelihoods. In 2025, she will focus on helping CCAK member companies scale their operations through targeted advocacy, market access initiatives, and strategic partnerships to maximise their impact. Ruth also has been a vocal supporter of women in energy. Indeed, in a recent interview on the Credo Voices Podcast, Ruth criticised harmful gender stereotypes and championed women’s empowerment across all spheres of life. In her message to other women, she says “Do not be afraid to take up space and define your niche early in life. Grow together, work collaboratively, and pursue a common vision.” #WomenInEnergy #Cleancooking #EnergyTransition
