☕🍪Pick up the phone this 'Brew Monday'! 🍪☕ Today is traditionally known as Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year. But at Hatmill, we prefer to celebrate ‘Brew Monday’! Started by the Samaritans, Brew Monday encourages people to brew a cup of coffee or tea and have a chat with someone. It's a simple yet powerful way to stay connected and avoid feelings of loneliness and despair. 💬☕ As a fully remote working business, we take the mental health of our colleagues seriously. That's why we have a large number of mental health first aiders on our team. 🧠💚 So today, the team will be reaching out to a colleague they haven’t spoken to for a while to catch up and make sure they’re okay. Why don’t you join us too? 🤝 #BrewMonday #MentalHealth #StayConnected #Hatmill #MentalHealthAwareness #YorkshireTea #TaylorsofHarrogate

💙 Blue Monday? 💙 Feeling the post-Christmas blues and saw a lot of chatter about #BlueMonday yesterday. It's that time of year when the holidays are behind us, the days are short, and it can feel a bit gloomy. However, I believe it's important to remember that mental health is a year-round conversation, not just a one-day event. Whether it's reaching out to a colleague, checking in with friends, or taking a moment for self-care, every small action can make a big difference. Let’s use today as a reminder to support each other and foster a positive, supportive environment—both in and out of the workplace. Together, we can turn Blue Monday into a day of kindness, connection, and care. #MentalHealthAwareness #KindnessMatters #BlueMonday

Today is often referred to as "Blue Monday," supposedly the most difficult day of the year. However, Samaritans have rebranded it as Brew Monday to dispel this myth and emphasise the importance of connection and support every day. As a Mental Health Ally at A&O Shearman, it’s important to understand the significance of mental wellbeing and the power of small gestures. That's why I've baked some treats for our team to enjoy with a cuppa, to mark this day. It's a simple way to encourage everyone to take a moment, check in with each other, and prioritise our mental health. Samaritans remind us that human connection can be lifesaving. Whether it's over a cup of tea, a walk, or a chat, let's make an effort to reach out and support one another. Every day is an opportunity to make a positive impact. Let's turn Blue Monday into a day of compassion, connection, and community. 💙 #BrewMonday #MentalHealthMatters #TeamSupport #AOShearman

Celebrating Blue Monday to keep mental health conversations going 💙 At Each Person, we’re bringing good vibes to the day by wearing tracksuits - because comfort always comes first. We also took a coffee break to relax, catch up, and spend quality time together. While Blue Monday started as a marketing gimmick by a travel company (and yes, we’re all dreaming of a holiday by now), it’s a great reminder to keep conversations around mental health open - not just today, but all year round 📆 January and winter can be tough, so it’s important to prioritise self-care, check in with those around you, and remember that it’s okay to feel blue. How to help others cope with Blue Monday! This day is recognised to be a challenging day for many and coping with and managing feelings of sadness or depression requires self-care and support. So, what can you do today to help others cope better… Performing an anonymous act of kindness could be just what they need today to bring a smile to their face. A way of letting them know that they are supported and cared for by others. It can be a way of purely cheering someone up who is feeling sad. Our mental wellbeing can be particularly fragile at this time of the year and any act to promote better wellbeing is important. #Wellbeing #WellbeingMatters #BlueMonday #Kindness

💙Blue Monday💙 at Matalan involved co-facilitating a virtual session with over 250 Matalan colleagues with Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust Clinical Psychologist Dr Jo Potier which helped us better understand how we can support ourselves and each other with our mental health at work. Key takeouts for me: 💙 The compassion flow is not just about giving compassion to others (easy for me to do), but is also about receiving compassion from others and being compassionate to ourselves. 💙 At the root of most things (human behaviour) is suffering, and so we should be generous in our judgements of others. 💙 We should check in with ourselves frequently as we all constantly move up and down the continuum, and course correct accordingly. 💙 Resilience isn’t about ‘keeping going’, it’s about bouncing back from setbacks quickly and safely. ‘Keeping going’ in the wrong conditions can instead lead to burnout. Taking time to talk about this - and so much other stuff on a cold, dark Monday morning is what Blue Monday is all about. So thank you Jo and to everyone who participated in the discussion. Happy Holidays! 🎄 While this season brings joy, it can also bring stress. Remember to prioritize your mental health and take steps to stay balanced and healthy. Here are some helpful tips: 🧘 Take a few moments each day for mindfulness or deep breathing. ❌ Avoid alcohol and other drugs as a way to cope with stress—they often make things harder in the long run. 💬 Talk to someone you trust if you're feeling overwhelmed, and know when to seek professional help. 📅 Plan ahead to avoid last-minute stress; don't be afraid to say "no" to over-commitments. ❤️ Connect with your community, whether through volunteering or spending time with loved ones. 🤝 Support others. Helping someone else can brighten your day. This season, focus on what truly matters and care for your well-being. Save this post as a reminder to check in with yourself and others. #MentalHealthMatters #breakthestigma #MentalHealthAwareness #takeamentalhealthmoment
