Fancy a cuppa? ☕ Today is ‘Brew Monday’, an annual Samaritans event designed as a positive alternative to ‘Blue Monday’, which encourages people to connect with others over a cup of tea or coffee. At Highway Care, we advocate for a positive and open culture around mental health in the workplace and we know that feeling low is not just something that happens on a random Monday in January. We have trained Mental Health First Aiders within the business and are always striving to create a safe space where our team can communicate openly and find the right support when they need it. So, why not take a moment for a cuppa and a chat with a friend or colleague today – you could just brighten someone’s day! 💙💛 #brewmonday #positiveculture #wellbeing #mentalheath #support #workplaceculture #highwaycare

In celebration of #MentalHealthAwarnessMonth month, Ali Renschler, a behavioral case manager for BlueCross, shares her tips for maintaining mental wellbeing. Ali prioritizes her mental health by staying active, leaning on family and friends for support, and working on creative projects like cross stitching. She recommends the following tips to anyone interested in improving or protecting their mental health: 1. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and take people up on their offers to help. 2. Rely on your community, whether that’s neighbors, family, friends or coworkers. 3. Having a hobby that has a material result is a great way to spend free time. 4. Being able to look at something you made or grew can help you feel accomplished. 5. Take care of your body and listen to it when it’s trying to tell you something. 6. Drink enough water, prioritize sleep, make sure you eat enough, and take breaks when you need them. #WeAreBCBST

June is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month. We are half way through the month and I've hardly seen it discussed on LinkedIn. This month is a powerful reminder that men deserve support and understanding just as much as anyone else. Let's use this opportunity to encourage open conversations about mental health, break down stigmas, and promote resources for support. Whether it's checking in on a friend, sharing helpful articles, or advocating for workplace mental health initiatives, every action counts. A question to all men: How are you doing? DMs are open to anyone wanting to chat. #AARonThoughts

It’s day 5 of Mental Health Awareness Week, and today it’s all about gratitude. Our mission for you? Simple - get out and radiate some good vibes 😀🙌. Telling someone that you appreciate them is a small thing that’s often overlooked. We assume they know, or just forget to voice it but it can make a big difference to someone’s day and improve their wellbeing. Take the time today to express your gratitude to the people in your communities. We’ve been delivering handwritten gratitude cards to our kaimahi throughout the week to let them know how important they are to our mahi. The results? Well, they were pretty cool, take a look below. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #MHAWNZ #MHAW

Today we are on the road raising awareness about mental health in the workplace. As the month of October is officially Mental Health Awareness month, our objective is to remind our incredible clients about the importance of self-care when it comes to prioritizing your mental health. We are dropping off these little succulents as a gentle reminder that just as a plant needs water, healthy soil, sunlight and patience, our minds also need to be looked after and tended to. Whether it be a walk in the afternoon sun, hydration or moments of quiet, you also deserve the time to turn off and do what brings you happiness. Our hope is that when you see your succulent flourish, you too will take those little moments to recharge, reflect, and remind yourself that your well-being is worth prioritizing. 🌱💙 Music Credit: Backyard Boy by Claire Rosinkranz #expresssomerset #expresscapetown #mentalhealthmatters #workplacewellness #takecareofyou #mentalhealthatwork #selfcare #clientappreciation #expressspros

It's Movember for my more hirsute friends and colleagues. That means growing facial hair, sure. But it also means opening your arms, eyes and mind to welcoming meaningful conversations around men's mental health. Men are over represented in suicide stats, and we know too well that along with our number 8 wire and just get on with it attitude as kiwi there's an unspoken vibe of put up or shut up. Let's not do that... Check out our Wellbeing Toolkit for some awesome resources on men's mental health and normalise vulnerable kōrero with our mates. #mensmentalhealth #movember #wellbeing #wellbeingtoolkit
As Movember kicks off in New Zealand, it’s time to focus on men’s mental health and spark meaningful conversations. 💬 One of the many carefully curated resources in our Wellbeing Toolkit is Tough Talk, a powerful docuseries where Kiwi men have open and honest conversations about their mental health journeys. Tough Talk highlights the strength in vulnerability and the importance of seeking support. 💪 Want to learn more about our Toolkit and how it could support your team?
