The biggest disruption that we & businesses face now is sustainability mainly due to a lack of knowledge, expertise & experience to tackle environmental issues. Without ‘green washing’ the NSBRC’s Festival of Sustainability on Friday 17th & Saturday 18th May offers genuine inspirational advice from experts on how we can improve both the energy efficiency & comfort levels of our properties, literally from the ground up. Featuring a Nature Zone that shines a light on charities & non-profit organisations who aim to improve our natural environment. We need to leave the planet in better shape than we found it. That challenge extends to every aspect of our life now.

Sustainability is part of who we are at Butternut 🌏 As a purpose driven company and a BCorp, we know that we can’t be the industry leaders in Fresh dog food without caring about our impact 💛 We also know that the only way to be successful for the long haul is by doing business in a way that considers the needs of all our partners - our customers, our squad, our communities, and of course, the environment 🌱 Whilst we hold our paws up and acknowledge this is not something that can be achieved overnight, we are incredibly proud of the progress we have made so far and are committed to continually finding ways to improve. In 2023 we: - Significantly reduced the carbon intensity of our meals - Introduced Paws Days and our first ever sabbatical policy to enhance the wellbeing, learning, and development of our squad 🐾 - Further supported our local communities, by increasing the number of our charity partners and the hours volunteered across all locations 💛 - Partnered with Sedex to help us manage and improve social and environmental sustainability in our supply chain and introduced two new lower carbon protein meals to our Fresh range Read all about it on our 2023 Annual Impact Report below 👇

Having led The Coca-Cola Foundation through a transformation and transition, it is time for me to say goodbye. It has been a busy three years establishing a new strategic model that leverages collective partnerships and investment tools to deepen the Foundation's global impact and reach, recruiting a world-class team to execute the new strategy, and backing transformative programs that address some of the most pressing global challenges of our time. I cannot wait to see the results of the many recent collective action programs the Foundation shaped and contributed to: Climate resilience programs such as Recharge Pakistan (WWF), CI Ventures (Conservation International), Accion Andina (Global Forest Generation), Living Danube 2.0 (World Wildlife Fund), and Nature for Water Facility (The Nature Conservancy) to advance nature-based solutions that help vulnerable communities adapt to the impacts of climate change in a world where over the last two decades floods and droughts have impacted 3 billion people. Water innovation programs such as Source of Innovation (IDB Lab), Sustainable Access Solutions Fund (Imagine H2O), and Uptime Catalyst Facility (Uptime) to advance innovative solutions that provide access to safe drinking water in a world where 2 billion people lack access to safe drinking water. Circular economy programs such as IslandPlas (IUCN) and Nigeria Plastic Solutions Activity (TechnoServe) to invest in solutions and models to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy. Economic empowerment programs such as Change Make Her (Kiva), JOBS (Generation), and Jamii Femmes (WIA Philanthropy) that foster economic development and inclusion in a world where 3.4 billion people are considered economically vulnerable. Preparedness and relief programs such as the Caribbean Water Utility Insurance Collective (Inter-American Development Bank) and the Surge Fund (CARE) to protect communities against disasters and to enable an agile humanitarian response in uncertain times. The charity sector has a unique opportunity to proactively prepare for upcoming sustainability reporting deadlines, ensuring that their work not only benefits the world but is also conducted sustainably. Charities interact with property in various ways, whether as office, retail, or industrial space occupiers or investors. They often use leased shops to raise awareness and generate income, as well as owning or leasing properties for community activities. The changing legislative landscape will impact all aspects of property management within the charity sector. Sustainability reporting and transparency can bring various benefits to charities, such as showcasing values to funders, improving bid proposals, increasing operational efficiency, and building partnerships with corporations. With sustainability becoming increasingly important in public perception, integrating sustainability reporting into organizational operations is no longer optional, but essential. Read more:

I would not use Insight for any travel. Over promise and well and truly under deliver. We recently travelled to Italy spending around NZD40k and one hotel room was so small we had to put our suitcases on the balcony. While there was an attempt to change rooms on three occasions most occasions ended spending one night in sub standard accommodation. Health and safety was an issue, a similar experience to White Islands eruption in NZ. Meals drew a mixed approach with fighting to get food at buffet breakfasts and extremely substandard food at a number of hotels and restaurants. Their response to these complaints were insulting and finally had some response in late December. One Insight person went the extra mile on one occasion. Insight why not deliver on your promises, why not pay greater attention to quality control ( better auditing of hotels and restaurants) you need to improve your health and safety processes and procedures and strive for improved customer relations - we are your customers and pay your salaries.
