Some months ago, I was asked by EUREC - The Association of European Renewable Energy Research Centres what I would say, considering my experience as a renewable energy student and sustainability professional, to young women who are considering pursuing a green energy career. In my answer, I couldn't but quote Doctor Jane Goodall, from the The Jane Goodall Institute and the Jane Goodall Institute Global . The energy sector is essential for the development of any society and, at the same time, is one of the most polluting. Thus, the window of opportunity to decarbonise our energy sources is as big as urgent. If protecting the environment and our planet is an impact you see yourself involved in, why not give it a try? In the video below you can also listen to Morgane Gaudissart's, Prajakta R.'s and Constanza Ocaña Peña's advice.
On 23 June, we celebrate the International Women in Engineering Day! Last year, during the #EURECMasters Presentation Days, we asked some female alumni to talk about their experiences as women working in the renewable energy sector. 🎥 We have published their testimonials on our Instagram channel (eurec_info) this week and you can also listen to their motivational advice in the video below. 👇 🌱 If you also want to work in the renewable energy sector, join our European Masters in Renewable Energy and Sustainable Energy System Management. Open House: Improving Outcomes for Women in Clean Energy Through Applied Research Clean energy entrepreneurship presents significant challenges for women, including limited access to funding, limited networking, lack of access to partnerships, challenging cultural norms, limited workplace flexibility, and lack of mentorship and training. While these barriers are common across different sectors, their impact on women entrepreneurs is particularly pronounced in the renewable sector due to the sector’s heavy reliance on technology and its male-dominated nature. With support from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) has launched a new initiative that will fund actionable research that aims to build the evidence base on these barriers and potential solutions. The project will fund six research projects on women in the clean energy sector, each eligible for a grant of up to USD 60,000. Join our Open House by registering here: https://lnkd.in/d48_5cpa 📅 Date: Tuesday, 30th January 2024 🕒 Time: 5:00 pm EAT The objective of the Open House: To introduce the project, open call for proposals, and answer questions about the call for proposals and matchmaking workshops. Should you need more information please contact SangEun Kim at sangeun.kim@aspeninstitute.org #cleanenergy #appliedresearch #womeninenergy

I am pleased to announce that my portrait will be presented during a special interactive art exhibition that will take place in the United Nations Headquarters in New York (inside the U.N. Visitors’ Gallery) from the 1st till the 22nd of March, 2024. The exhibition titled “Portraits of progress: Women Leaders Powering the Global Goals” will feature portraits and stories of women changemakers from around the world, who are driving solutions to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). I have been selected to represent UN Goal #7: AFFORDABLE & CLEAN ENERGY for the founding of Eco Wave Power (Nasdaq: WAVE) which has developed an innovative technology for generation of clean electricity from ocean and sea waves. Alongside each portrait, visitors will be able to scan a QR code to listen to a message from the featured woman leader, who shares more about how she is working towards a particular goal. The exhibition was created by Vital Voices Global Partnership and is supported by the UN Office for Partnerships. The artwork was created by three women artists: Gayle Kabaker, Stef Wong, and Erin K. Robinson. For the full press release please visit the following link: https://lnkd.in/e8XKBAcT. For further info, please visit the following link: https://lnkd.in/eP8aZqvk. The European Research and Innovation Days 2024 (EU Science, Research and Innovation) almost completely culminate my three-week stay in Brussels holding fruitful meetings and participating in events seeking to both create and strengthen stable collaborations, reliable in the short, medium and long-term with Leitat Technological Center. Europe’s critical juncture in its green energy strategy needs a decisive shift towards a green, fair and resilient solar PV supply chain, facing the current infrastructural and economic bottlenecks. Seeking to contribute to the strategic priorities for securing the solar PV supply chain, I have meet with the European Commission DG for Research and Innovation, SolarPower Europe, EERA JP PV Solar Energy, imec, EUREC - The Association of European Renewable Energy Research Centres, European Commission Research Executive Agency (REA), COST Association - European Cooperation in Science and Technology, European Commission Directorate-General for International Partnerships, European Commission Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL), European Commission ERC Executive Agency (ERCEA), European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), European Commission Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI), European Committee of the Regions, European Commission Joint Research Centre, CDTI Innovación - Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico y la Innovación, SOST-CDTI, and the Delegation of the Government of Catalonia to the European Union. Likewise, I have been able to participate in the EARPA- European Automotive Research Partners Association Spring Meeting, Smart Readiness Indicator joint event (Smart Square Project), Informal Group of R&D Liaison Offices (IGLO) Networking Reception hosted by Thuringia and Hauts-de-France, 2024 @EIC Pathfinder Challenges Info Day, and EU debate on Energy Poverty. #PVsupplychain #RIDaysEU #RIWeek2024 #HorizonEU
