What an incredible conference in Osaka! We wanted to move the dial with peer support in aviation and the 120 delegates from 20 different countries certainly did that. Presentations from industry experts and Regulators, along with breakout sessions and interactive workshops all combined to deliver what IPAAC is all about - sharing expertise and knowledge in order to drive up the quality and effectiveness of peer support programmes around the world. It was an intense three days, over half of which was devoted to discussion and debate in workshops and breakout sessions, and the output was significant. We are working through all the presentations in order to flatten them and put them on the website, so bear with us whilst this process happens. There will also be a position paper resulting from conference which will be sent to as many NAAs as we can access, and we are working on a document which we hope to take to the ICAO Assembly in 2025. We will be communicating more about these in due course, but in the meantime we are catching our breath after a brilliant conference with brilliant hosts in a brilliant country. The bar has indeed been set very high for the 2025 IPAAC conference in Montreal. Our amazing Head of Customer Relations Rose Sokolova has put together a short video which beautifully captures all the many elements that went into the 2024 Osaka conference. Today, two very important events at the same time: #irf2024 congress organized by International Road Federation (IRF) in Istambul and #vyodeal congress by Asociación Española de la Carretera (AEC) in Barcelona. In the first one, our CEO Ibon Aretxalde gives a conference about the use of assets management to improve the Road Safety. In the second one, Amaia Aretxalde Ugartetxe, customer sucess manager, will show examples of Regional Administrations doing very efficient monitoring of traffic signs, road markings, safety barriers and evaluation of the condition of the pavement, in a cost-effective way.

I have been anticipating this for eight months! But not only anticipating, working hard toward this milestone. Going to Dubai! With MDRT Global Conference! How cool is that? So many speakers have asked me: “How did you get this? Who did you know? What are you going to talk about?” And my answer is always the same- “I applied like everyone else. I knew no one who made a connection for me, and I am going to work really hard like I always do to make this talk meaningful and relevant to the financial insurance industry audience.” For those who don’t know, MDRT stands for the Million Dollar Round Table. Over the last year, I have learned just how coveted this engagement is… who knew?! Why did they choose me? One answer is: must be the hand of God. The other answer is: Why NOT Me?! Am I nervous? Of course I am, but I’m more excited than nervous. Excited for the opportunities that I have been given, and the responsibility that it holds. I am part of a peoplehood known for being the People of The Book. And as such, we value words. Either written or spoken. I carry that responsibility as a speaker. I internalize that words have power. Power to not only entertain, or inspire but also shift someone’s perspective, change someone’s mind, opening them to explore other thoughts, and practices. That is a big responsibility! And it is also a privilege- and I don’t take it for granted. What I love about MDRT is the professionalism and planning that goes into such a global conference. Meetings that have been set up for months before the event such as this picture between Clarissa Orr, MS, MDRT amazing professional, and my captain, Bo. They have been mind-blowingly supportive! 🎥 EOA Conference Insights 🎤 Today, our CEO Jonathan Winchester took the stage at the eoa Conference, sharing key findings from our mystery shop of 60 brands in attendance on handling new business enquiries. Key takeaways: 1️⃣ Answer the phone! 50% of calls never got a callback. 2️⃣ In 50% of calls, we spoke immediately to an “expert.” 3️⃣ Of those promised a callback from an “expert,” only 55% received one. 4️⃣ 90% of calls were handled with empathy and understanding—a big win! 5️⃣ Only 67% of promised information was sent after the conversation. 6️⃣ None occurred in the 10% of cases where follow-up was promised.
