The United Nations theme of International Women’s Day in 2024 is ‘Invest in women: accelerate progress.’ While gender equity and championing diverse communities is an ongoing priority at Johnson & Johnson ANZ, over the past week in particular we’ve engaged in a number of activities and discussions addressing this theme. Last week, Johnson & Johnson MedTech ANZ Managing Director Susan Martin presented the closing keynote at The Hatchery (Hub) Women in Leadership Summit, speaking about the importance of our internal monologues in changing the external dialogue. On Monday, the ANZ Women’s Leadership & Inclusion Committee hosted a webinar with Janssen Australia and New Zealand Managing Director Urs Voegeli who welcomed guest speaker Karen Taylor, CEO of Women & Leadership Australia (WLA). Karen inspired attendees with stories of allyship from men, inclusion, and career navigation. Karen spoke of the positive impact of women in the workforce, community, and families whilst highlighting the importance of women having financial and economic security. And with the J&J MedTech APAC Regional Leadership Team in Sydney this week, WLI Co-lead Paula Williams (GAICD) interviewed MD Susan Martin and Company Group Chair for MedTech APAC, Vishnu Kalra, about gender equity, positive role models, and the importance of men as allies both in and out of the workplace. #investinwomen #internationalwomensday #inspireinclusion #womeninleadership

🧡 Happy International Women's Day! 🧡 Celebrating the boundless achievements and contributions of women across the globe, this day is not just a nod to the victories but also a recognition of the enduring spirit and courage women exhibit against challenges. From innovative leaders to unsung heroes in communities, women are shaping a brighter future for all: 1. Innovation: Organizations with diverse leadership teams report a 19% increase in revenue from innovation, illustrating the critical role women play in fostering creativity and progress (Boston Consulting Group, 2018). 2. Leadership & Performance: Companies with gender-diverse executive teams are more likely to outperform on profitability, showcasing the powerful impact of women in leadership positions (McKinsey & Company, 2015). 3. Improved Decision Making: Teams that include women are better at making decisions that lead to successful outcomes. A study found that mixed-gender teams outperform their single-gender counterparts in decision-making effectiveness, demonstrating the value of women's perspectives in strategic thinking and problem solving (Karakowsky & Elangovan, 2001). As we celebrate today, we are especially proud to be a company founded and led by a woman, Jennifer Dulski, and where more than 40% of our leadership and our full team are women. Let's continue to honor the remarkable contributions of women everywhere while pushing forward with hope and unity toward a future where everyone's potential can flourish. #InternationalWomensDay #CelebrateWomen #Empowerment #UnityInDiversity

Accelerating Progress – Unleashing the Power of Women in Leadership. Inaugurated in 1911, International Women’s Day (IWD) celebrated the pivotal role women play in our society following a realization that women’s participation in leadership is indispensable for social progress and sustainable development. Investing in women for them to succeed does not equate to elevating them at the expense of men! It is a commitment to equality. It is imperative to reinforce the understanding that women are equals, and just as capable as their male counterparts. Progress has been registered, but over a century later, women in leadership roles remain sparse and scattered. Gender gaps persist in various domains and many rural societies. It demands visionary leaders to build on the existing momentum and accelerate progress to unlock an incredible talent pool for the benefit of society on a grand scale. Investing in women leadership is a strategic obligation for a comprehensive and sustainable future. Toastmasters is a progressive organization and exemplifies this ethos. With a woman as our International President and several dynamic self-directed women leaders at Leadership Speak, we have inspiring role models for both men and women to learn from. Join us on Saturday 9th March at Leadership Speak and witness our women leaders showcase a global culture that celebrates women’s achievements. Let us collectively rally for accelerated change to achieve a more equitable and empowered future. -------------------------------------------------- Date: March 9th, 2024 Time: 8:30 AM EDT (Toronto/New York. -4 UTC) Register Your Guests now at: https://lnkd.in/gQ3Ch_h8 Check your local time at: https://bit.ly/LS-Mar09 #leadershipspeak #womenpower #selfdirectedleaders #internationalwomensday2024 #IWD2024 #whereleadersaremade #toastmastersinternational #toastmastersclub

Tomorrow we celebrate International Women’s Day, with this year’s focus on Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress 🌟 At &FLUENCE, we adopt a #Bcorp mindset. This means that empowering women is at our core, simply because it’s the right thing to do. 👭 We're proud to support initiatives like the Young Lady Business Academy providing pro bono negotiation training to the next generation of female leaders. And yes, we’ve witnessed first-hand that women are indeed the better negotiators. 🤝 However, investing in women isn't just about empowering women; it's also about mobilising men as advocates. That’s why our own advocate, Maarten van Rossum gives the example during BrandedU’s women’s leadership events, such as AmplifyHER and Men as Advocates for Women's Visibility, and we're a proud partner of the Women's Visibility Awards 🏆 But most importantly, investing in women is about changing the system. That's why we partner up with clients who are leaders in women's health and enable women across the world. We also give Gender in Negotiation training to create a deep awareness of the influence of gender to tackle biases. All so we can create a system that women deserve. 🥇 What is your company doing to invest in women? Please share below so we can all inspire each other! 💪 #InternationalWomensDay #InvestInWomen #Equality #Empowerment #Womensadvocates #ChangeTheSystem

Happy International Women's Day ❤️ A time to honour the incredible impact, achievements, and contributions of women all around the world - including those in leadership. Women currently occupy 42% of board seats within the UK’s FTSE 350 organisations – a record all-time high - but there’s still plenty of room for improvement. Especially when you consider only ten FTSE 100 companies are led by female chief executives. Companies with gender-diverse executive teams are 21% more likely to experience above-average profitability, including a 42% higher return on sales. A diverse workforce, including women in key leadership positions, is essential for fostering a variety of perspectives and experiences that can drive innovation and progress. Embracing diversity of thought can improve collaboration and create a more inclusive work environment for all employees, ultimately boosting morale and productivity in the workplace. Happy IWD 🎉 We are proud to have supported people of all genders to grow their leadership skills with our free open access resources: https://buff.ly/2KyQWCD #IWD2024 #genderequal #inspireinclusion
