Our latest research paper has been published in the esteemed Journal of Clinical Case Reports and Images! 🎉 🤔 Curious about the innovative Hybrid Limited Shoulder Surgical Management (HLSSM) technique developed by Sayed Issa? This groundbreaking approach combines arthroscopic and open surgical methods to provide optimal outcomes for shoulder joint issues. 🔍 The study, spanning over 31 months and involving 44 cases, highlights the effectiveness of HLSSM in treating various shoulder conditions. With a mean operation duration of just 35 minutes and no major complications reported, it's evident that this technique is both safe and efficient. 💡 What sets HLSSM apart is its simplicity, safety, and cost-effectiveness, making it a viable option for patients worldwide. Particularly in regions where advanced arthroscopic procedures may be inaccessible, HLSSM offers a promising alternative. 👩⚕️👨⚕️ This technique is not only suitable for experienced hand surgeons but also holds potential in Mini Lateral Shoulder Approach (MLSA). Whether you're in the medical field or simply interested in cutting-edge healthcare innovations, this article is a must-read! 📚 For more detailed insights into HLSSM and its implications, check out the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gbc_aa92 Stay informed, stay ahead! 💪 #MedicalInnovation #HealthcareResearch #ShoulderSurgery #HLSSM

Follow-up to my earlier post about the great MINS meeting in Breckenridge earlier this month. One common theme throughout the meeting was that "minimally invasive" is a concept, not a definition. There are many different ways of doing certain procedures, whether that be a fusion or decompression (like a lumbar diskectomy). Using the example of the surgical treatment of the patient who required removal of a symptomatic lumbar disk herniation, what I took home from the meeting (ie, IMHO, your mileage may vary) as well as the many other meetings I've been to over the last 30+ years was that it mattered LESS which technique (microsurgical, microsurgical tubular approach, endoscopic uniportal, endoscopic biportal) one used as long as you were doing the right procedure at depth. In otherwords, how you achieved this was less important than the mastery with which you achieved the decompression and removal of the offending fragment(s). That mastery can only come from a combination of mentorship, training, practice, and a thougthful committment to excellence on every case. I will discuss this and other aspects of care in my upcoming webinar, "Contemporary Treatment of Lumbar Disk Herniations: a Surgeon's Perspective". Please join me for a discussion of the state of the art for conservative and surgical treaments of this common but vexing problem, which affects athletes and couch potatoes alike. We will have time at the end for questions from the participants, and this is the lead-off event of my educational seminar series. In future talks, we will discuss the science and art of managing other spinal conditions ranging from trauma, to degenerative conditions, to rarer conditions, to the latest research, to prevention of spinal injuries at home and work. Hope you can make it! https://lnkd.in/eRxypZvy

This year's Institute of Decontamination Sciences (IDSc) conference was great, I attended the 2nd day and found all the talks extremely interesting and useful. Below are my key takeaways: 💰 Financial Wisdom: Cost savings drive the push for decontamination solutions. Investing wisely for long-term savings. 🚀 Tech Innovation: Excitement around new technologies! Embracing innovation, especially if it aligns with environmental goals. 🌱 Green Focus: Re-use, recycle, and rethink! Prioritising sustainability over single-use. Environmental consciousness at the forefront. 📊 Data Matters: Remember, "Poor data makes poor decisions." Quality data is the basis of informed choices. 🔄 Different Perspectives: Challenges aren't roadblocks but opportunities when viewed from different angles. A mindset shift for progress. 🏆 Uncompromising Standards: Quality is non-negotiable. Uphold the highest standards, always. 🔄 Streamlining Operations: Efficiency is key. Exploring carbon reduction plans and evergreen survey initiatives to streamline processes. 🤝 Supplier Engagement: Asking sterile leads about sustainability initiatives. How can we collaborate for a greener future? 🚀 Proactive Mindset: It's all about being proactive, not reactive. Let's shape the future rather than just respond to it. Exciting times ahead! 💡 Thank you for sharing Doros Polydorou- a shame I didn't get the opportunity to listen to your talk on the first day, however, It was a pleasure talking with you, Trevor Garcia, and many others. I eagerly look forward to next year. #ellabers #IDSc #decontamination #sterileprocessing #sterilisation #sterileservices #innovationinhealthcare 🌍
Congratulations to Trevor Garcia and the Institute of Decontamination Sciences team for a great conference this week. If you work in interventional radiology or other surgical setting, what are you doing to ensure the health and safety of your staff? See how our STREAMWAY® System sets the new standard: Endorsed by clinicians. Designed for safety. As the only automated direct-to-drain disposal system, STREAMWAY® improves efficiency and reduces costs while increasing safety from the first paracentesis or thoracentesis procedure. If you or a colleague will be attending the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) conference #RSNA2023, join us at Booth #6550 for a demonstration of this innovative technology. Not attending? Click here to set up a virtual or in-person demonstration: www.https://https://lnkd.in/gZX6Gcn4. STREAMWAY® Endorsed by Clinicians. Designed for Safety. “It is recommended that surgery departments install an automatic fluid management system (FMS) that flushes blood and body fluids directly to the sanitary sewer to increase safety for the staff, decrease the amount of RMW and offer other long-term cost-savings such as a reduction in the transportation costs of RMW.” ~Association of Surgical Technologies.

Listen to Gastroenterologist Olaya Brewer Gutierrez and minimally invasive surgeon Brett Parker, from Johns Hopkins, discuss concomitant transoral incisionless fundoplication (cTIF). They answer commonly asked questions such as: How does cTIF differ from TIF? Who are the best candidates for the procedure? What is recovery like? https://lnkd.in/dMcYn6T9 #cTIF #GERD #PatientOutcomes

#TheReprocessingReport: (https://hubs.ly/Q02s7Bwh0) There are IFUs for just about everything in #sterileprocessing departments, and for good reason. #SPD is responsible for cleaning some of the most vital & potentially risky equipment in the hospital: surgical instruments. But one IFU you won’t find is for a patient-first culture. Learn more about how to create a patient first culture in your department. #PureProcessing #CentralProcessing #MDR #GI #Gastroenterology #Endo #Endoscopy #Colonoscopy

I'd like to talk about a procedure first pioneered by George Kelling in 1901 and that has since revolutionized the field of noninvasive medicine -Laparoscopy. Laparoscopy is a procedure where cameras and tools are inserted into minimal incisions which allows providers to carry out procedures via monitors. Because of its diverse applications Laparoscopy can bring minimally invasive means to many procedures, minimizing risk and recovery times to further better patient outcomes. Some of the high risk procedures that can be ameliorated include Salpingectomies, cystectomy, orchiopexies, rectopexies, and apendectomies. Non-Invasive and Minimally invasive medicine are having their times in the sun as patient care is emphasized more and more, I wonder what new and exciting developments will take place in the field as I prepare to enter medicine!
