Working strategically to better coordinate and communicate across business, government and nonprofit sectors to improve health and economic outcomes.
It is a tremendous honor to be a part of this effort. If you are not a member of the Nonprofit Executive Alliance but you are a business or nonprofit leader, or an elected official, and would like to participate, please let me know. Next month, in partnership with Broward County Government, the Coordinating Council of Broward, Nonprofit Executive Alliance, Community Foundation of Broward and the American Jewish Committee (AJC) we will be co-hosting three workshops on Anti-Semitism. These workshops are geared to nonprofit and business leaders as well as elected officials. Not only is this issue deeply personal to me but Broward County has one of the largest populations of Jews in the world and it's one of the fastest growing populations in our community. Antisemitism in America is rising, becoming more commonplace and more violent. Ranging from threatening Jewish people on the streets to a constant barrage of online hate—it impacts your staff, board, volunteers, those you serve, their families, and our entire community. Recognizing that antisemitism poses a threat to democracy, the White House recently released the U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism, which adopts a “whole-of-society” approach to addressing antisemitism in America. Based on AJC’s comprehensive Call to Action Against Antisemitism, the National Strategy provides concrete examples of what businesses can do to stem the tide, such as including antisemitism awareness and training in diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) curricula. It also calls on employers to educate andshare information about Jewish American heritage, culture, and history. American leadership—from public, private, and nonprofit sectors—has a critical role to play in fighting all forms of hatred, including antisemitism. That fight begins with understanding the problem, learning about the diversity of the Jewish community, and empowering people to speak out. Please reach out if you would like to learn more.
Nonprofit and business leaders in South Florida -- American Jewish Committee (AJC) is partnering with Nonprofit Executive Alliance, Community Foundation of Broward, Coordinating Council of Broward and David Posnack JCC to bring an important training For Non-Profit, For-Profit, & Civic Leaders on Countering Antisemitism in the Workplace. Gain a deeper understanding of antisemitism, seeking ways to effectively address and counteract its presence in our society. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain profound insights from Dr. Saba Soomekh, AJC’s Director of Training and Education, into combatting prejudice and fostering understanding as she addresses the pressing issue of global antisemitism. · April 2, 12:00 pm: Virtual event hosted by Nonprofit Executive Alliance. Enabling product security teams to protect the devices we rely on every day through market-leading software threat, vulnerability, and risk management.
If you're looking for a good cause to support for Amplify Austin today, please consider donating to the United Way of Greater Austin! One of the pivotal goals of their work is their focus on high-quality early care and education. The first five years of every person’s life are foundational. Studies show that a child’s experiences during those early years literally build the architecture of their brain. Every $1 invested in early childhood education results in a $7 return-on-investment that benefits: - Local families, whose focus and trust lies in their children receiving high-quality care and support while they are working, - Our local economy, because it thrives with the talents of parents in the workforce, and - Our community, because children are tomorrow’s workforce and leaders. Supporting early childhood education strengthens our region into one where everyone can thrive. Donate now and make that vision a reality. https://lnkd.in/gZGmXfnv

Sometimes #communityengagement or #communityinvolvement is viewed only from the perspective of helping others. While that is an awesome perspective, some may be more likely to prioritize it if they also understood how it is mutually beneficial. Many community organizations or #nonprofits offer education on their cause. That education is a huge opportunity to learn the impact of your help and can also be used internally to help the individuals who make up your organization. While I believe community involvement is a great thing to do and even the right thing to do, I suggest being strategic in your community engagement, creating the opportunity to learn more about the cause and amplifying the available resource.

Break out into song for another organization who just signed up with us. Today, we welcome New Stages. For more than a quarter century, it has been delivering professional theatre in Peterborough. New Stages is a non-profit charitable organization that works with volunteers, from time to time, to deliver contemporary plays to supportive audiences. Volunteers are also needed to assist in fundraising initiatives. Did you know that the arts is one of the sectors that relies on volunteers more so than most others? Here are the main reasons that people sign up help arts groups, according to a 2023 survey (in order of popularity): - Feeling like I am contributing/giving back in my community - Applying and sharing my knowledge and skills - Learning something new - Meeting new people - Something to do with my free time - Socializing with friends - Free admission or tickets to arts events - Completing required volunteer hours for school, university or other programs Find out more about supporting New Stages here ==> https://buff.ly/3HgNsiZ #VolunteersRock #ItTakesaTeam #Volunteers #Volunteering #Volunteerism #VolunteerPeterborough #WelcomeWednesday
