I would like to welcome you all for the. Industrial session of the 6th ACTUALLY International Conference on Efficient Building Design, taking place at AUB and Lebanon. So would like to start with the first presentation presented by Mr. Ruston representing NESMA and partners, our Platinum Sponsor for this conference. I'm glad to be here at the UB and it is a pleasure and honor to represent Massman Partners at the 6th International Conference on Option Building Design helped by Ashley. Today I'll show you how our company is leading the way in sustainable and energy efficient building practices. We will start with a short overview of NESMA and partners and the industries with their. And then we'll go into our approach to sustainability and look at some specific practices we've implemented covering everything from energy performance to material sustainability, for example. And finally, I'll highlight a few key projects that showcase our dedication to building a greener future. So that's more Partners was established in 1981 and has grown into one of Saudi Arabia's leading contracting companies. With over 40,000 employees from 48 nationalities, we focus on providing innovative and sustainable solutions and sectors that support Saudi Arabia Vision 2030. Let's take a closer look at some of these sectors. And the building sector? We've earned the reputation as a trusted general contractor across industries such as healthcare, real estate and hospitality. Our services span architecture, civil and MEP services supporting complex and large scale infrastructure projects where we also deliver Urban Development projects, aviation infrastructure and comprehensive site improvements. And of course, we are also a significant player in the energy sector, providing solutions and oil and gas, nuclear and renewable energy projects. But in all these sectors, sustainability remains a top priority in everything we do. So at NESMA and partners, our sustainability strategy covers environmental impacts, social responsibility, and strong and strong governance practices, making it a holistic strategy. We design projects to meet top standards and energy and resource efficiency, and we frequently degrade certifications like LEAD and most of them. But it is not possible to achieve these standards without our employees and local communities. So for that, our sustainability efforts begins with our people. We provide in that training problems to ensure each team member understands his role in reaching. Oh boy, mental goals. And beyond our workforce, we also engage local stakeholders, from suppliers to community members, encouraging sustainable practices across the board. And by tracking key metrics such as energy and water consumption and waste generation, we continuously improve our process. Now let's explore some sustainable practices that we implement in our projects. When it comes to sustainable practices, we cover a lot of topics. Here we will be talking briefly about this eight topics, the outdoor thermal comfort, the indoor air quality, sustainable mobility, energy performance, water conservation, material sustainability, waste management, and testing and commissioning. And for sure, by addressing these areas, we create an environment that is functional, comfortable, and environmentally conscious. Let's start by looking at the outdoor thermal comfort. And our projects, we carefully analyze natural factors such as wind direction and urban heat islands to optimize building orientation and maximize natural ventilation. And also by using pergolas, reflective materials, vertical greenery and green infrastructures. We we are able to create comfortable outdoor environments with minimal reliance on artificial cooling. For indoor spaces, air quality is crucial to occupant health and we follow strict standards to maintain it. So in our projects, we limit the use of Vocs and materials like adhesives, paints and coatings, and we help to ensure that the air inside our projects remains clean and healthy by choosing materials certified by programs such as Green Card, Green Card, and Floor School. Now ������ ������ briefly to energy. Of this conference. And this sustainable building model, you'll see several energy optimizing features such as the photovoltaic panels you can see here for power generation, the efficient heat pumps for climate control, and you can also see the energy recovery ventilation to reduce energy loss. You can also see some smart technologies such as the building energy management system and occupancy sensitive lighting, which boosts efficiency in any project. The model also includes high quality insulation, LED lighting efficiency, efficient appliances and variable speed pumps, which are good examples of elements that reduce energy consumption. You will also find here the electrical vehicle charging stations powered by renewable energy and promoting green transportation that is becoming popular nowadays. Together, all these features cut energy consumption, cut costs and environmental impacts. One specific example of energy optimization is the use of regenerative drives in our projects, especially in elevators and escalators. These systems culture kinetic energy during braking and decelerating and converted back to electricity, reducing the overall energy consumption of the system itself. Now, as we all know, transportation emissions are a major concern globally. And to address this, we incorporate sustainable mobility into our projects by designing spaces that support green vehicles. So for example, one of our projects in Riyadh includes over 1000 parking spaces that dedicated for electrical and green vehicles and equipped with fast charging stations for the electrical vehicles. Let's look now at another essential resource. And of course, it is what? Many of our projects utilize TSE water that can be used for cooling towers and irrigation systems within the same project, along with rainwater harvesting and grey water treatment plants. Additionally, we always install low flow water fixtures as you can see here in the illustration, even in our camps and offices to significantly reduce water consumption. Now, our choice of material is another key part of our commitment to sustainability. So for that we prioritize materials that are eco friendly, durable and regional resources to support local economies. And to always look for products with certifications like Environmental Product Declarations and Forest Stewardship Council to ensure sustainable sourcing and healthier environments. And as we select sustainable materials, we are mindful of waste management practices to further reduce our our input. Our waste management management plans focus on proper handling, recycling and disposal of waste. And then some projects, we've managed to divert over 92% of construction waste from landfills, which help us meet the international sustainability standards and reduce the environmental footprint. Here are some examples of sustainable construction practices. Where you can see the side watering on side to control the dust, you can see also the storm water management and it is also used to control the water runoff. And all these practices ensure that our site remains remain safe and environmentally friendly as Poss. Finally, with testing and commissioning. This approach ensures that the systems run efficiently and sustainably long after project completion. Now let's shift to a few projects by national partners where these practices are put to the test. Of course, our portfolio at National Partners includes too many projects which are lead certified and they are examples of hospitals, innovative centers and Urban Development. I started, I started with, uh, this, uh, small part called Nesma Park. Designed as a community giveback initiative in Saudi Arabia, The park is a sustainable landscape featuring drought tolerant plants and solar shades. As you can see, creating a sustainable landscape. This park is a space that promotes energy efficiency and environmental harmony together. It is one of our standout projects and Innovation Center spanning 13,500 square meters and holding a lead gold certification. This project showcases advanced technologies, energy efficiency and forward thinking design. This is a Medical Center specializes in neurology and neurosurgery and spans 46,000 square meters. And this project achieved the also lead certification on March 28, 2023. Das ist auch so ein impressive. Dann Story Special Hospital for. Children taperia of over one hundred thousand per meters. It is a LEED certified facility providing 346 bats and specialized care areas. And this is an ongoing Urban Development in Saudi Arabia also, which integrates residential, commercial and cultural spaces, aiming to revitalize the historic city while meeting lead standards for eco friendliness and high quality of life. At the end, we're working on a mega mall project in Riyadh that spans 1,870,000 square meters with a wide range of shops, restaurants and Internet entertainment centers. This project is aiming for LEED Gold certification to show its dedication to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
