Judo strapping 🥋 Steve Miller (Grow Physio) Rehabilitation Specialist at British Judo Association, shows a quick strapping technique he uses on some of the judo fighters. 1️⃣ To start, lay down the anchor points with Tiger Zinc Oxide 3.8cm, one around the wrist and one below the distal palmer. 2️⃣ Once done, start applying supporting strips in a criss-cross pattern and along the middle of the palm, slightly overlapping each layer. Repeat this on the back of the hand. 3️⃣ To finish off, use Tiger Club EAB 5cm to create a figure of 8 around the straps on the hand and wrist. Secure the end of the EAB with Zinc Oxide to keep it in place. All tapes available from Tiger Tapes ➡ https://bit.ly/47MbuO5 ⛑ Whilst this video provides some great tips, please seek guidance from a medical professional or physiotherapist before attempting this taping technique. GTNANO(R) - NANOCOMPOSITE MATERIALS FOR EXTREME ENVIRONMENTS | SHIELDING | THERMAL PROTECTION | HYPERSONICS | SPACE OPTICS
Judo techniques are generally intended to turn an opponent’s force to one’s own advantage rather than to oppose it directly. Well here’s a nice mental/emotional/spiritual judo move you can do: instead of trying to oppose or escape your pain leverage it instead. In fact, make it seem even worse than it is. Actually drive it to “ breaking threshold”.

Clinical Sports Pharmacist. Medication Safety Specialist. Board Certified Sterile Compounding Pharmacist.
This study presents a suitable and comprehensive model, revised and supported by experts in Judo, for the development of judokas across the lifespan. Our findings revealed that the model contents—physical, motor, educational, and health—are entwined with its four domains, which the experts in Judo considered of utmost importance. Also, this study improves our understanding of career development and sport participation in Judo. We anticipate its use for integrating Motor Development knowledge with Judo educational, philosophical, and competition values in children, youth, adults, and seniors. Once validated by experts, we recommend that this approach be tested. As such, future studies on the judokas’ unfolding careers should investigate how the physical, motor, health, and educational factors are best entwined across distinct age categories and goals of Judo. https://lnkd.in/drAxNWe9 #JudoForAll

Perspectives Judo is a highly complex sport in which the organization of specific training is a challenging task. Gaining an under- standing of the physiological responses to training and competitive situations is critical for designing appropriate training methods. Although the physiological responses to judo competition and to the most used judo-specific training modalities are fairly well known, improvements in training methods will depend on further well-controlled prospective research studies. Because the Olympic sport of judo has been through constant changes over the past decades (mostly because of improvements in athletes’ technical, tactical, and physical levels and because of changes in official competition rules), future research investigations must provide an under- standing of how these changes impact combat dynamics and, as a consequence, how they impact the physiological and metabolic demands of judo combat. Judo coaches must be aware of these changes as their impact on combat dynamics may require adjustments in training methods. #judo #bjj #martialarts #sportscience #strengthandconditioning

JUDO-SPECIFIC TRAINING MODALITIES The most common modalities used during judo training sessions require 2 participants and include the following: “uchi-komi”—repetitive technical practice with a single partner executing the technique without throwing; “nage-komi”— repetitive throwing practice with a single partner executing the technique; “randori”—combat or fight practice, sparring with attempts by both the participants to execute techniques. Studies have examined the physiological responses to these specific training modalities and to whole judo training sessions, we will discuss about that in the next posts.

Judo -Basics and Tactics- (Perfect Lesson Book) by Kenichiro Agemizu https://lnkd.in/gmfqyhSW Innovative "Six Compartment Theory" proposed by the director of Tokai University Judo Club, which has produced many medalists This book reviews the techniques of Japanese-style judo and calls it the "six-compartment theory" based on kumite and height differences. It is organized around the theme of how to compete with the world's best. In each compartment, the basics of Kumite and the techniques to be utilized change. We believe that it is necessary to establish and organize one's techniques in the 6 sections in order to respond in various situations according to one's opponent. * The method used in a session given by the author at the French Judo Federation's April 2024 instructors' course at Tokai University in Japan. #publishing #book #japan #foreignrights #japanesebooks #sport #judo #JapaneseAuthors #KenichiroAgemizu #jitsugyononihonsha #federationfrançaisedejudo #TokaiUniversity

DID YOU KNOW? The objective of judo is to throw your opponent to the ground, immobilise them with a pinning hold or force them into submission with a joint lock or choke. There are two types of scores in judo: An ippon is awarded when an athlete throws his opponent to the mat on his or her back with strength, speed and control. An ippon can also be awarded through submission or by pinning an opponent to the ground for 20 seconds. If a judoka achieves ippon, they immediately win the match. A waza-ari is awarded for a throw that isn’t clear enough to be an ippon (either because it lacked speed or force, or the opponent did not land primarily on their back) or when an opponent is pinned down for less than 20 seconds (but longer than 10 seconds). Two waza‑ari in one match is the equivalent of an ippon and immediately ends the match. #BidvestsupportsteamSA #Bidvestoperationexcellence
