Chief Executive Officer - LEADERVAULT •Influencing the trajectory of Aged Care • Building and retaining talent •Creating holistic and sustainable care for older people •
Accountability in care is immensely important, it reduces risk, leads to improved clinical outcomes and promotes education. Accountability in a clinical setting is more than just a conversation, it’s a deeper understanding of how to influence a team to understand the ‘why’ and have meaningful engagement in solutions, solutions that support long term embedding of accountability. When done well, teams begin to see the benefits for patient/consumer care and how they can save time to do the things that really matter - the caring. Clinical incidents and investigations tie up valuable resources and have widespread operational impact - we must approach accountability from a supportive angle and coach teams to recognise opportunities to teach it. Repremanding staff that haven’t been provided support or education to grow is not the way to achieve the outcomes we need. Include these 4 strategies in your daily approach to leadership. I guarantee better care outcomes for those you support, and a happier team to boot! Good luck! I believe in you! 💚 #collaborationForTheGreaterGood #betterCareForOlderAustralians #WeWillMakeADifference #reinventingAgedCare #breakingTheWheel #differentApproachesDifferentOutcomes #supportThoseWhoLead
