Starting your career can be both exciting and challenging. Reflecting on my first year as a full-time Marketing Coordinator at The Harbinger Group, I've learned a lot about navigating the professional world. One key lesson is that being in an entry-level position doesn't mean you can't lead and improve operational processes. Your thoughts are valuable, so don't hesitate to speak up and suggest improvements. Remember, while you have much to learn from your team members, you also have ideas and knowledge to offer them. My newly hired #intern is surely better than me. Don’t believe me? Let me tell you this recent story with you all. We hired 2 amazing interns last week. Ashmeet Chhabra & Anshul Dogra were the 2 selected candidates out of an amazing pool of 25 candidates #shortlisted. We did our routine #orientation and everything started to go well. It was just 2 days and we had our #feedback session as always. To my surprise, Anshul and Ashmeet had some superb Constructive #criticism. They very rightly pointed out how we can smoothen the onboarding and orientation. How the orientation can be ✅MORE FUN ✅INTERACTIVE  and ✅ENGAGING The feedback was taken very seriously by our #team. Today, We have another pool of interns coming. They both are now taking charge for the orientation program. The plans look very exciting and impressive. Here are 2 major key takeaways. 🔴 be a good LISTENER and a LEARNER. You’ll surely learn something new everyday. Well, This is only possible when you realise that you have huge scope to learn And there are certain things that others are better at. 🔴 Always be Dynamic while working. We felt as a team that letting them take charge and change things according to them will be for the good. 2 week old interns taking charge and implementing plans looks superb to the eye. When you see your team taking initiative and always improvising. You will always end up having a great day. Well, Do share your 1st onboarding experience. Was it good? Interactive? Boring? We're Young, Really. The people at Port, by Numberless, where I'm doing my internship are 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 like me. Super young, super energetic, and super fun. abhay shenoy, Harshita Chawla, and I are just 19. And we're managing Port's social media, making posts, and writing scripts and ideas for reels. We're pinging our Marketing Manager literally every single minute. "Janice, I've got a new idea", "Can we try this trend?", "Oh, we can edit it like peeps at buildspace", "TBH no one's gonna read this long ass about section, let's make it short, simple, and quirky", "Oh, I can do this." YUP, all those texts are sent within a span of just 6 minutes. We interns are messaging everyone in the team, from our 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗘𝗙 𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗡 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗥 (🫡) Ruthvik V for resources, to our 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗘𝗙 𝗘𝗫𝗘𝗖𝗨𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗥 (🫡) Aniruddh Balasubramaniam for approvals. (Though our CEO is young, he doesn't use social media apps, tabhi toh he did his research at ETH Zürich.) We have so many more cool people on our team like Abhinav N, Sagarika SV, Hetvee Marviya, and many more (haven't talked to them just yet, but I'm pretty sure they're also going to be super cool). (it's so fun to work together because our team members aren't boomers like in big old companies, ehhh.) So yep, I'll join offline next month and I'm so damn excited :) BTW, hi Janice Coutinho, I posted hahaha (also tomorrow's post is ready 🫡).

How did my juniors add value to me? I’ve always been a person who gets inspired by the people around me. Having said that, over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to spend plenty of time with people who were younger than me. I’ve noticed that most of us make the mistake of thinking that we know more than our juniors do. Whenever I engaged in conversations where I had contrasting opinions with them, I always tried to understand their point of view to avoid any biases. During my tenure at TravClan, there was always an intern who was part of the team. Interacting with them and learning their approach to certain problems always added to my constructive opinions about particular issues. These are a few things that I’ve learned from them: •Learning should never stop. Once we enter the corporate world, we often make the mistake of sticking to our job roles rather than exploring all the opportunities available to us. We should always have the zeal to learn and grow when we are working in repetitive job roles. •Having a keen interest in what is happening around us. There was an intern who was always aware of what was happening in the team. He was not just excelling in his own work but also aimed to help his team members, creating a healthy environment within the team. When a team member takes an initiative to help others, it automatically spreads to other members, thus improving the work environment. •Looking forward to more opportunities and challenges. I’ve met a lot of juniors who liked getting tasks that were out of their comfort zone. Their motive was never to impress others but to unleash their true potential and capabilities. You can never realize your true potential until you step out of your comfort zone. When I reflect upon the juniors I met during my college and job tenure, I feel grateful for having enough interactions with them, which helped me understand their approach to various topics. Next time you notice a junior stuck in a problem, don’t forget to initiate a conversation with them. It might add some value to you as well. 😉 See you all in the next post.

Reflecting on my experience conducting #walkininterviews for recruiting interns!  Having recently led walk-ins for recruiting #frontendinterns, I've gained invaluable insights that I'd love to share with the community. 🚀 1️⃣ Continuous Learning: One of the most significant takeaways has been the importance of fostering a culture of continuous learning. Candidates who showcased a passion for self-improvement and a willingness to learn new technologies stood out. 2️⃣ Listen Attentively: Each candidate has a unique story. Taking the time to listen and understand their aspirations is crucial. 3️⃣ Assessment Accuracy: Evaluating skills and cultural fit accurately requires a blend of structured assessments and intuition. 4️⃣ Problem-Solving Aptitude: The ability to solve complex problems efficiently is a must-have skill. Candidates who could approach challenges creatively and demonstrate logical problem-solving strategies stood out during the recruitment process. Keep learning, growing, and pushing boundaries! 💡💻

✨I’m excited to announce the successful completion of my 3-month summer internship at ClearTax as an Inside Sales Intern! 🎉 These past few months have been a fantastic journey of learning and growth.
