Thank you, Women for Economic Leadership and Development (WELD) and Otterbein University for co-hosting the 14th Anniversary National Leadership Conference on June 20th. The presentations by accomplished speakers and a variety of breakout sessions hit the mark to support this year’s theme, “Rise. Thrive. Lead. Building Strong Networks and Allies!” My key takeaways for making new connections and building relationships include: · A negotiator mindset is critical for successful business & family communications (especially when talking with my teenage sons). · Confidence matters!  · Improve relationships by actively listening & asking questions. · One size does not fit all! Adapt your leadership style to each unique situation or task.

"The difference between the successful collaboration and the unsuccessful collaboration is accountability." - Bridgebuilders by William Eggers Do you agree⁉ This is a dynamic quote I came across in a book that I cannot put down. How many times do we take part in collaborations and not share the outcomes or ask others to hold us accountable for timely results? As our Chamber rolls out our "Pillars of Progress" and three new initiatives focused on DEI, workforce development and business advocacy in 2024, we must be held accountable. We intend to share out information through newsletters and social media, along with more direct communications to our businesses. We're striving to ensure a diverse group of leaders are part of all these collaborative networks to share out to their spheres of influence. The goal is that we're held accountable to ensure we remain results oriented and move the needle for the businesses and community we serve.
