Thrilled to see the first phase of McMurtry Automotive Limited's R&D and manufacturing facility expansion get approved. This achievement marks a brilliant step forward for innovation and sustainability in the Gloucestershire area. The new development will be pivotal in supporting the company’s growth and driving progress toward carbon neutrality. Congratulations to everyone who contributed to making this achievement possible!
Morgan Elliot Planning, working closely with Stroud District Council and Gloucestershire County Council have secured planning permission for the first phase of the expansion of the McMurtry Automotive Limited R&D and manufacturing facility at Wotton under Edge. The new buildings have been designed to help facilitate the growth and manufacturing of the Spéirling electric car, a pioneering and record breaking car which in 2022 set the outright hill climb record at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Spéirling is a precursor to new and innovative technology that is being developed by the company and will assist in moving the UK into carbon neutrality. The new facility is the first phase of development to sustain the company’s growth with the second phase currently in planning and situated next to the Renishaw New Mills site. The Spéirling is the brainchild of the late Sir David McMurtry who is one of Gloucestershire’s innovative giants. Special thanks to aled roberts and Lucy McNamara at Roberts Limbrick and David Marks at Ward Williams , Mike Glaze at Rappor as well as Mike Davies at Davies Landscape Architects. #RobertMcMurtry #McMurtry #innovation #manufacturing #Spéirling #gloucestershire
