The Paihau—Robinson Research Institute is thrilled to co-organise and participate in the 5th Joint Workshop between Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington and Kyoto University, hosted in wellington. These workshops are a gateway to practical and conceptual growth for New Zealand science. On a tangible level, they enable sharing cutting-edge technologies, facilities, and resources. On an intangible level, they foster international collaboration, inspire fresh ideas, and bring world-leading scientific thinking to Aotearoa—and vice versa. For New Zealand to thrive on the global stage, we must continue to trailblaze and collaborate. Together, we advance knowledge for the benefit of all. In this video Professor Nick Long discusses the benefits of the workshop: https://lnkd.in/g4wTyZsv #GlobalCollaboration #NewZealandScience #Kyoto2024 #TrailblazingScience

Next steps for CoARA initiatives in DK: Meeting on September 24 with the aim to enhance Collaboration Between Danish Foundations and Universities 📅🤝 Today, representatives from the Danish foundations and universities meet to discuss how to collectively push forward the CoARA agenda. The aim is to include more diversity in research evaluation and assessment at the universities and by the foundations. 🌍📊 With an increasing focus on Open Science, new demands for documenting quality of research impact, including societal impact is key, and traditional metrics can no longer stand alone 📚🔍 Solutions are necessary to provide infrastructure to assess research projects and researchers more broadly, and the use of responsible metrics and documentation of different types of impact calls for collective efforts. To address these questions and find possible solutions, Danmarks Frie Forskningsfond (DFF), Villum Fonden, and Aalborg Universitet (AAU) have invited Danish funders and universities to discuss how collaboration on the CoARA agenda can take place to ensure transparent, sustainable, and responsible solutions to research assessment. #CoARA #OpenScience #AAU #DFF #VillimFoundation
