Another great Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) edition and although there's still 2 days to go, it's time for our Virtual Innovation Partners team to head back to our studio to start preparations for the VP-days Conference next week. It's incredibly exciting to see the evolution of Virtual Production tools across our industry. Ever since our first cooperation with XR-pioneer Andy Hook and the team at White Light and d&b solutions back in 2018 ( shout out to the Eurosport and Discovery Inc ''Cube'' project) the use of LED based film and broadcast production has taken huge steps forward. The volume of small, medium and large solutions that are on display in Barcelona this week amplifies our believe that this is (one of many) the way forward. The SmartStage XR solutions on display at the Samsung Display Solutions and CreateLED stand demonstrate that there are viable and production ready solutions to make XR accesible for corporate/educational/entertainment use without the need of large production teams. There is a place for corporate small and medium sized setups with ease of use and low level entry knowledge to change the way we communicate with our clients, teams and market. If you're at the Fira Barcelona or heading there , you're in for a treat. Personally I enjoyed talking to our VP/XR/ICVFX industry people. Exchanging views and ideas will only improve this innovation technology and will eventually lead to even more accesible solutions and finding exciting new ways of re-shaping the way we create content. Welcome to Las Vegas! Welcome to CES 2024. The Consumer Electronics Show (CES), possibly the most powerful Tech event in the world , is a place of superlatives: 🚩 130.000 visitors 🚩 3.500 companies & 1.200 start-ups 🚩 160 countries, almost the whole planet is represented Get your best casual-smart shoes, and start walking, walking and walking. The show seems to show more and more B2B use cases, and maybe less B2C. Hardly surprising when all goods are getting connected. There is also this impression that Asian brands are over-proportionally represented. Canon, KIA, LG, Hyundai, Nikon, Polestar, Samsung, Sony have large and thriving booths. All showing incremental advancements in digitalisation, all supported by AI since no one wants to stay behind.

Bell Labs Camera-as-a-Service technology created new experiences at U23 Event in Espoo During the U23 European Track and Field Championships, Bell Labs Solutions Research had the opportunity to collaborate with the event organizers to provide a unique, all-encompassing experience for all attendees. We tested our Camera-as-a-Service proof of concept solution in a real-world environment where spectators, athletes, coaches and organizers could explore behind the scenes opportunities and view athletes in a private warm-up area, replay key moments from the live competition and even access real-time information about parking availability and food truck queues. Our software solution transforms standard cameras into intelligent cameras that run AI applications and perform automated machine learning operations on the low-cost edge connected devices. This reduces the need to implement expensive network infrastructure and eliminates the need to send and process data in the cloud. The analytics are done locally, on the edge ensuring no raw data leaves the device, preserving end-user data security and privacy. This technology not only revolutionizes athletic experiences, but it can also be deployed in enterprise and industrial environments to capture real-world information, derive intelligent insights, support optimal decision making and ultimately improve productivity, safety and sustainability. It’s always interesting to see the latest tech innovations on show at CES, and there was quite a bit of hype around transparent TVs this year, with brands including LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics releasing them. This got me thinking about we can share content in new ways, to appeal to peoples' evolving consumption habits, and keep attendees inspired throughout an experience. It will be interesting to see how the tech develops, and some of the ways I predict we’ll be able to use these TVs include: ☀️ They can help us add a sense of natural lighting to larger scale venues that are lacking in this area. 💻 We’re all conscious of screen time, and these TVs could allow delegates to take on a hybrid existence, by immersing them in a brands’ world through screen content, while simultaneously enabling them to consume elements of the real, physical world. Sony Group is increasing its focus on the virtual production business where it is seeing market-beating growth, a company executive said, riding on the strength of the Japanese entertainment conglomerate's technology. The business, which offers virtual production facilities to filmmakers and broadcasters, involves using a wall of light-emitting diode (LED) panels displaying images - a science-fiction landscape or a downtown cityscape - that are integrated into the scene as it is shot. An alternative to green screens, where digital effects are added at a later stage, advantages of the system include more realistic reflections created by light from the panels and greater immersion for actors on set. Sony sees its edge from the company's strength in hardware - the conglomerate makes everything from image sensors for cameras to the supersized LED video walls - and moviemaking expertise as a major player in Hollywood. #news #pakistan #sony #virtual #tech
