St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - ALSAC’s Post

👋 Meet Nicole R. Harris, our Advisor - DEIB Strategic Relationships and whose time at ALSAC began in 2018, as part of her over 13-year career in Communications. Beginning her ALSAC journey in Marketing, Nicole has grown her passion for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging in part through being a co-chair of the LGBTQIA+ Employees and Allies Resource Group. Her contributions towards this year’s Pride Month celebration included planning and leading the EARG’s joint participation in the 2024 Mid-South Pride Parade & Festival with the St. Jude PRIDE EARG, leading the design efforts for unique merchandise to commemorate this year’s Pride and co-leading the launch of ALSAC's first Inclusive Restroom. In an interview, we asked her: what is most rewarding about serving your fellow colleagues as an EARG co-chair? I have, unfortunately, worked at places that did not encourage inclusion and belonging. Working at ALSAC and having the ability to not only be myself but also to encourage others to do the same is a rewarding experience. I am humbled and grateful to our members — and leadership! — for trusting me with their feelings and vision for both the EARG and its contributions to the organization. My co-chair tenure ends June 30, and I'm excited to see our new leaders take us even further.
