Are you familiar with these fascinating facts about the Interstate Bridge? ⁣ ✅ The Interstate Bridge spans the majestic Columbia River, connecting the cities of Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington.⁣ ✅ Originally built in 1917 as a single bridge carrying two-way traffic. ✅ A second twin bridge opened in 1958, with each bridge moving one-way traffic. Not your average ramp installation... Earlier this week the engineers from our Exeter branch installed this ramp system into the rather majestic setting of Exeter Cathedral ⛪🧑🦽 The cathedral is undergoing some renovations to improve accessibility for all with new lifts and facilities along with other changes to improve energy efficiency. As a result of the works the usual access ramps are out of action so Unique Mobility has installed this temporary ramp to ensure access is maintained during the works. It's great to see the Cathedral prioritising accessibility of the building for all 🙌 What a privilege to be able to deliver such a beneficial project for the Exeter community. Here's a bird's eye view of the progress made on our Roath Park Cycleway scheme for Cardiff Council. Significant improvements have been made around the Pen-Y-Lan Library and Community Centre, including the installation of an attenuation tank for better drainage, upgrades to surface water systems, and enhancements to the road leading into the library car park. The entrance to the car park now incorporates two-way traffic flow, making it more accessible. The formation of the new shared-use cycleway on the recreation ground between the library and Alder Road is complete. This area now features new street light infrastructure and a drainage system, enhancing safety and usability for cyclists and pedestrians alike. In Pen Y Wain Place, we’ve focused on enhancing pedestrian and cyclist safety with major improvements. These include junction regeneration, footpath widening, new crossings, and paving slab renewal. Additionally, a new buildout at the bus stop has been installed to improve accessibility. The kerb has been realigned at the Ninian Road/Wellfield Road Junction, and tactile paving for the new crossing's layout has been installed. We have also renewed traffic signal ducting and drainage, completing the first phase of the junction realignment. Communication ducting along Wellfield Road has been installed, enabling better connectivity in the area and facilitating a wider infrastructure upgrade. This ducting will continue up Pen-Y-Lan Road, further extending these improvements. On Ty Draw Road, the removal of existing traffic calming measures is ongoing. Once removal is complete, new measures, including a raised table, will be installed to improve pedestrian crossing and maintain traffic calming effects. Tree maintenance within the park has been successfully completed. This involved tasks such as limb removal, pruning, crown lifting, and hazardous tree clearing, all overseen by an arborist to ensure the long-term health of the trees and the safety of the park. #TeamKB #Cardiff #Civilengineers #Construction #Publicrealm #Infrastructure

Forth Ports submits proposals for next phase of Harbour 31 as part of Leith regeneration Forth Ports Limited is moving forward with phase two of Harbour 31, known as The Dry Dock at Harbour 31, a new creative and commercial hub on land to the east of Edinburgh Dock within the Port of Leith. The Proposal of Application (PAN) submitted to The City of Edinburgh Council is the next phase of the wider Harbour 31 development plans for the area and follows on from the Planning Permission in Principle (PPP) submitted in March this year for 337 new homes and approximately 244sqm of commercial space. This PAN identifies specific opportunities including business, general industrial use, storage and distribution, training/education facilities, with retail, food and drink uses on a site situated to the east of Edinburgh Dock at the Port of Leith; integrating land at the port into the wider community in and around Leith. https://lnkd.in/ec-U3QYm #ports #regeneration #maritimeconnection #ISeaSMEs #socsea24

City of York Council have announced that affordable housing is to be increased to 100% on their Ordnance Lane Passivhaus site in Fishergate, with the number of affordable homes being doubled from around 50 to 100. We are currently working with City of York and our Consultant Team to make these changes to our original proposals.   Commenting on this, Cllr Michael Pavlovic, Executive Member for Housing and Safer Communities at City of York Council, said: “The average home in York currently costs 10.9 times the average earnings, rents have risen 10% in the last year and energy costs continue to rise. To tackle this, a core commitment of the new Council Plan ‘One City, for all’, is to increase the supply of good quality, affordable housing with high energy efficiency and low emissions.   “Creating 100% affordable homes meets that commitment.
