My heart is with everyone affected by the devastating fires in Los Angeles. If you’re looking for ways to help, here are some impactful options: • Visit GoFundMe's Wildfire Relief Hub: This hub features hundreds of verified fundraisers, including campaigns for individuals and nonprofit organizations like World Central Kitchen, Salvation Army, and Baby2Baby. Share it widely! Every donation and every post makes a difference. • Support GoFundMe.org's Wildfire Relief Fund: This fund is already providing emergency grants to those impacted, offering immediate relief while they wait for longer-term aid. Your contribution can help stabilize lives during this critical time. • Start a fundraiser: Whether it’s for an individual in need or a charity responding to the crisis, creating a fundraiser can make a huge impact. Share it in the comments, and I’ll ensure it’s added to GoFundMe’s hub and considered for an emergency grant. • Share your ideas: Our team is working around the clock to explore new partnerships and innovative ways to support those affected. If you have an idea, I’d love to hear from you! A heartfelt thank you to everyone working tirelessly around the world to respond to this crisis. The outpouring of support has been truly extraordinary. Together, we can make a difference. 💛

It’s been a stressful week to live in Los Angeles. My neighborhood is okay, just smokey, but others have been completely devastated. There are many more imminently urgent groups to donate to supporting families and businesses who have lost everything in these wildfires and those fighting the fires, but when this is all over and we’re rebuilding consider a donation to Watch Duty. It’s incredible how a small lean non-profit has become the most trusted source of evacuation and fire progress information, saving many lives and putting others in nearby areas slightly more at ease with up to date information. Trying to make sense of the latest information in a timely manner can be extremely tough amid all the different jurisdictions posting their information in different places in inconsistent formats, but Watch Duty brings it all together in such an easy to understand way that even some emergency responders use it for the most up to date information. More donations will enable to them to expand to other disaster types and to continue and expand the good work they are already doing. Here's a couple of places you can donate to help those effected by the fires: League of CA Community Foundation disaster relief funds: https://lnkd.in/gRaJ63qJ LAFD foundation: https://lnkd.in/gpebvjAz LA food bank: https://lnkd.in/gQrgETPk Red Cross: https://lnkd.in/g-qBSbss World Central Kitchen: https://lnkd.in/gDFdgZD5

Here’s an update from our President!
Next Saturday, I'll be jumping from an airplane (for the first time ever) in support of the Gary Sinise Foundation and their hurricane relief efforts. I want to thank so many who have shown their support by donating! We just raised the goal to $75,000! I’m especially honored that Micky and Madeleine Arison through their MICKY AND MADELEINE ARISON FAMILY FOUNDATION have offered their support by matching funds! And a special thank you to Sports Illustrated for their coverage as I'm not the most athletic person! https://lnkd.in/eBaG-AjB If you'd like to support or learn more, here's the link to donate: https://lnkd.in/e5ZbqC8a #skydive #hurricanerelief

It's hard to put into words the sites and scenes we are watching unfold in our beautiful state. Western North Carolina is absolutely devastated from the catastrophic and historical flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. Places many of us have visited are absolutely decimated, and those who call these beautiful towns home are not only displaced but also desperate for support. The recovery won't end in the next few days - or even the next few weeks. It will take months, if not years, for these areas to recover and begin restoring some sense of normalcy. We each have an opportunity to ask ourselves: what if this was me? And once you reflect on that question, I encourage every person in my network to consider how you can contribute to this recovery effort. Join Jason Rymer and me in donating to United Way of North Carolina. Their fund will support both the short- and long-term efforts in Western N.C. If you'd prefer to give in other ways, consider giving to the local chapter of the Red Cross, Samaritan's Purse and World Central Kitchen -- each of these organizations has local responders on the ground. It's time to band together. It's time to spark the collective power of community giving. It's time to rebuild our state. It's time to support our fellow Carolinians. #HurricaneHelene #GiveBack #SupportWNC
United Way of North Carolina (UWNC) is proud to announce the launch of its UW Helps NC Fund, an initiative designed to support both immediate and long-term recovery efforts in communities impacted by Hurricane Helene. The Duke Energy Foundation is making a generous donation of $100,000 to the Governor’s NC Disaster Relief Fund, a state fund which is also managed by United Way of North Carolina. This partnership with Governor Roy Cooper's office and THE DUKE ENERGY FOUNDATION has matched UWNC’s fundraising efforts, doubling what has been raised to date, thanks to the collective giving power of our community.
