A Summary of Junior Activities at the 2023 EAACI Congress Dr. Isabel Fernandez de Alba Porcel From the WAO Junior Member Group committee, we would like to present you a summary of the different activities and highlights of the European congress that took place in Hamburg, Germany from 9 to 11 June, 2023. There have been numerous scientific sessions given exclusively by young allergists and they are always open to all congress attendees. On the first day, there were two junior scientific sessions about immunity and its in-depth analysis with new developments, as well as another session about the relationship between sports and respiratory diseases. This is also the day that the first informal meeting between the juniors took place! After the congress, we got to know each other better over drinks. Networking and getting to know each other in person after so many emails is a great incentive and helps us to create common projects. The second day, more junior sessions took place, such as the one on immunomodulatory responses. It was a great day since we were lucky enough to meet in person with the whole WAO Junior board! New projects kept coming up, and the synergies that are created in face-to-face meetings are powerful. Not to be missed, there was also a prize-giving ceremony for a junior member by the whole European society. To end the day, we had an educational cocktail in the poster area where we had the opportunity to greet each other again. The congress could not have ended better on the last day with interesting junior sessions, such as "How to maximize research impact?", which were very useful and some specific sessions of clinical cases. We are thankful and excited to have had the opportunity to keep on learning together in new projects to come. Source: https://lnkd.in/gc4j7N6T #waojm #eaaci2023

We’re thrilled at the news of this unprecedented partnership launched by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Novo Nordisk Foundation, and Wellcome Trust to accelerate global health access and equity. At Nexleaf, we've seen the impact of climate change and disasters like recent storms in East Africa in the continuous data we mobilize from health facilities. It's clear that there is an enormous unmet need for solutions that address the nexus of climate and health for low-income countries. To make meaningful progress on public health goals while tackling the risks posed by climate change, we must engage experts on the ground, support research rooted in the countries it serves, and collaborate with governments to scale tech and scientific breakthroughs in the hardest-to-reach places. We’ll be following developments from this initiative closely as we continue to do our part to build resilient, data-powered medical equipment and vaccine systems that improve the health of all patients. #ClimateAndHealth #GlobalHealth #TechForGood #DataForGood
Today, we announced a three-year partnership with Wellcome Trust and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to support critical scientific research and development for global health. 🫁 Respiratory conditions are currently not a top priority, not only in Europe but also worldwide. Miquel Díaz Pascual from Sanofi emphasizes the significance of building a large community of patient groups collaborating with medical societies. By working together, they can create more educational resources for #patients to access reliable information and empower themselves to advocate for their #health. Miquel believes that EUFOREA is filling the huge gap in upper airways and is the only organisation focusing on upper respiratory airways.
