Thank you very much Maria Willander, Jannica Niklasson and Signe isbäck for arranging the opportunity for me to take you and your Telenor colleagues on this journey. The journey - "From Peenemünde to Mars and even further away" - is not your everyday trip 😀 See and hear about space and humanity in the past, present, and future. From war efforts to spacecraft, interstellar objects, the near-miss with Earth in 2013, intelligent signals, water on Mars, when and why we'll return to the Moon, how far we've travelled, the most challenging (still unsolved) problems of living on another planet, and much more. What can some insight into space exploration bring to your staff? Spending about an hour instead of working? It is definitely something very different. It raises questions, sparks curiosity, and shows that others have solved problems that no one else has solved before. It could spur the imagination and, by extension, perhaps give a more open mind to work even more solution and team-oriented, more out-of-the-box, and focus innovatively in another dimension than today. P.S. This experience is delivered completely pro bono in a little bit more than 1 hour. It’s just great to spark interest for Space among more people. 🚀
Had the great pleasure of listening to Magnus Lundberg and his fantastic presentation at our annual Kick off. So impressed by the knowledge you have gathered! Thank you so much for sharing this epic and mind boggling journey about rockets and space 🪐🛸🚀

"We must do everything in our power to effectively utilize space, as it allows us to always know what is happening across all fronts at any given time." At the DefenseTech Summit, Tel Aviv, Avi Berger, Head of the Space Directorate at DDR&D, emphasized the critical role of space in modern warfare. "Space enables near real-time intelligence, ensuring the IDF can operate effectively across multiple fronts, some as far as 2,000 kilometers from Israel." An intense 45 minutes at Global MilSatCom! Sustainability of orbits and sustainability of spectrum would require one conference each but, together with co-panelists Andrew D'Uva, Martin Coleman, and Dave Black, I did my best to provide an introduction tailored to a military audience. Cheat sheet: - Outer Space is one of the Global Commons (like the ocean). - Valuable orbits are Common Pool Resources (like the fisheries), characterized by (1) difficulty of exclusion and (2) subtractive consumption. This means that no single entity in in charge of the space environment, whose stewardship is a responsibility shared among all civil and military stakeholders, including spacecraft operators, manufacturers, providers of space situational/domain awareness services, watchdogs, and even legislative bodies. International cooperation is crucial to agree common rules of behaviour, enable exchange of operational data (while respecting national security), and foster convergence of regulatory regimes. Commercial and institutional spacecraft operators - please reach out to the Space Data Association to find out how more than 30 operators are already collaborating to improve space safety and preserve the space environment! With thanks to SAE Media Group Defence for the invitation and to Helen Weedon of Radical Moves Ltd for moderating! #MilSatCom #SpaceSustainability #SpaceSafety #SpaceDebris #SpaceTraffic #SpaceEnvironment
Last week SDA representatives Lorenzo Arona and Andrew D'Uva attended Global Milsatcom where they participated in an interesting panel on 'Ensuring Longterm Sustainability of Space & Spectrum' alongside Helen Weedon & Martin Coleman of the Satcoms Innovation Group (SIG), and Wing Commander Dave Black of UK Space Command. The subject sparked an interactive discussion from the audience, with questions being raised around the predicted exponential rise of space debris as well as the challenges surrounding unequal approaches to debris regulation. Collaboration was the fundamental take-home message from panellists - a coordinated approach will be crucial in the sustainability of space. We would like to extend a thank you to SAE Media Group for the invitation to discuss such an important topic.
