By increasing the energy mix, Zambia will be less vulnerable to drought-related power deficits, enhancing overall energy security.
Support for Key Industries: The additional 300 MW will stabilize the energy supply, crucial for industries such as mining and manufacturing. This stability is likely to reduce production disruptions, particularly in the copper mining sector, which is vital to Zambia’s economy.
