In October, we had the privilege of hosting our 10th Shell Ultimate Stopover event in the beautiful city of Budapest. It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate and recognise the hard work of our commercial road transport (CRT) lubricant distributors, heavy-duty fleet customers, and OEMs from 13 countries across 4 continents, speaking over 20 languages! The week was a blend of celebration, reflecting on our shared achievements, and setting a positive vision for the future. The event’s TechZone Day featured: 🤝 Jason Wong, Executive Vice President of Shell Lubricants, delivered an inspiring keynote speech, reflecting on the evolution of transport innovation, the current industry landscape, and the significance of collaboration in achieving progress in the sector. 🚛 Giandomenico Fioretti, Head of Alternative Propulsion Business Development at IVECO Truck, provided a glimpse into the future of the road sector, focusing on technological innovations, regulatory shifts, and the range of alternative powertrains. 🏎️ Nic Hamilton, Professional Motorsport driver and author, inspired the audience with his motivational speech that focused on overcoming challenges, both personal and professional, which left a lasting impression. And, to showcase the future of efficient and sustainable transport, the latest Shell Starship 3.0 Hybrid model, developed in collaboration with FAW, was exhibited outside. Our Shanghai Technology Centre conducts research and development on lubricants and grease technology, services and new energies. The scientists there are critical in helping to drive research & development for new and emerging sectors such as robotic applications, immersion cooling, life sciences and thermal management of E-fluids. They stay on the frontier of innovation by also partnering with leading academic institutions in new energies, Wind Power, Hydrogen and more. As an example, they have a strong collaboration with Tsinghua University, and recently conducted a joint project for grease application in the wind power sector. The centre is part of a network of world-class technology centres across 3 continents with over 500 R&D scientists covering all regions & sectors. #lubricants #innovation #technology
