About this mod

Makes adjustments to the base game perks to hopefully make some of the less desirable perks, well, desirable. Everything from better companion perks to auto-lockpicking and hacking. Also contains some great features for survival mode!

NOTE: Perks that grant conditioned abilities are cycled such that they will no longer stop working after enough time has elapsed. This bug is known as the "Ability Condition" bug.

This mod contains the fix from my "No More Damage" mod. You do not need both and can disable NMD while using this mod. If you decide to keep both, load this mod after NMD.

STRENGTH

  • Heavy Gunner: R1 adds recipes for 5mmFlamer Fuel, Harpoon, and Cannonball ammo types to the chemistry workbench.
  • Strong Back: R3&4 also reduces equipped armor weight by 50/100%. R5 grants an additional 50 carry weight.
  • Steady Aim: R3 hip-fire damage bonus increased from 5% to 10%.
  • Basher: now also causes bleeding damage. R4 critical chance increased from 15% to 20% and has a 20% chance to cripple.
  • Rooted: R3 now also reduces damage from melee and unarmed attacks by 20% while not moving.
  • Pain Train: Increased damage for all ranks from 15/30/75 to 30/60/100. Effect no longer triggers on corpses and now properly consumes 10 AP on contact. Power Armor mods that increase damage or movement speed increase the damage of Pain Train effects. Details below.

PERCEPTION

  • Awareness: R1 now also grants 10% armor penetration in VATS.
  • Locksmith: each rank grants the ability to auto-pick the previous lock level, i.e. R1 allows auto-picking of novice level locks. R4 allows auto-picking of all locks, however any locks requiring a key cannot be auto-picked. Strong also likes it when you brute-force locks open.
  • Night Person: R1-3 increase all AP regen by 10/20/30% at night.
  • Refractor: R1-5 also reduces incoming energy damage by 2% per rank.

ENDURANCE

  • ToughnessR1-5 also reduces incoming ballistic damage by 2% per rank.
  • Lead Belly: R1&2 now also increase the healing of food and drink by 25/50%. R3 has a chance to fully feed or quench your thirst on consumption, and when this effect triggers you stay sated 50% longer.
  • Chem Resistant: R2 consuming chems no longer causes thirst in survival mode.
  • Lifegiver: R3 health regen now works while in combat at 50% effectiveness.
  • Aquaboy/Aquagirl: R2 now also grants 25% increased swim speed as well as a 50% chance to avoid incoming damage while swimming.
  • Rad Resistant: R1 now also increases damage dealt the more Rads you accumulate. R2 causes Rad-X to provide 25 HP/AP and 10 DR/ER. R3 grants access to Heavy Lead lined armor mods. R4 doubles the effect of Rad-X (200 rad resistance, 50 HP/AP, 20 DR/ER).
  • Adamantium Skeleton: R1&2 now also reduce fall damage by 25/50%. R3 negates over-encumbrance damage in survival.
  • Cannibal: R3 now also heals additional health based on a percentage of missing health.
  • Ghoulish: R1 now also causes your melee strikes to deal radiation damage and transferring some of it to your target. R2 increases the radiation damage. R4 increases melee damage by 20%. The healing bonus provided on all ranks has been doubled.
  • Solar Powered: R3 health regen now works while in combat at 50% effectiveness.

CHARISMA

  • Lone Wanderer: R3 AP bonus increased from 25 to 30.
  • Attack Dog: R1 now also increases carry weight by 50. R2 increases health by 75. R3 increases resistances by 50. R4 now also reduces incoming damage for Dogmeat by 10%.
  • Party Boy/Girl: R1 now also grants 15% damage reduction while partying with friends. R2 now also doubles the duration of alcohol and no longer causes thirst on consumption in survival mode.
  • Inspiration: grants more significant bonuses to companions with this perk.

INTELLIGENCE

  • VANS: R1 also grants 10% increased movement speed (non-combat). R2 also grants 20% increased sprinting speed, and the required level has been reduced from 26 to 20. [NEW] R3 marks all locations on your map, and requires level 36.
  • Hacker: each rank grants the ability to auto-hack the previous lock level. Any terminals requiring a password cannot be auto-hacked.
  • Scrapper: The highlight component bonus has been moved from R2 to R1 and has double the radius. R3 now also includes rare components.

AGILITY

  • Sneak: R1 now also increases movement speed while sneaking by 20%. R5 now applies a 5 second invisibility effect that will break upon aiming or attacking.
  • Moving Target: R1 now also grants a 5% chance to dodge while sprinting. R2 now also causes you to gain a burst of speed when hit while sprinting (60s cooldown).
  • Quick Hands: R3 AP bonus increased from 10 to 20.

LUCK

  • Fortune Finder: R4 Shower of Caps effect now automatically grants you the caps on explosion so you no longer have to loot them off the ground.
  • Scrounger: R4 chance to activate increased from 5% to 10%. Added .45-70, 7.62, Flamer Fuel, and Missiles to the leveled lists of this perk.
  • Bloody Mess: R1 causing a bloody mess grants affinity with Strong. R4 increased chance for area effect to occur from 10% to 25% and upon triggering gain 20% critical chance for 60 seconds.
  • Idiot Savant: R3 chance to activate is no longer affected by Intelligence.

COMPANION:

  • Cait: now increases combat AP regen by 25% regardless of current health and when health drops below 40%, increases 'all' AP regen by 25%.
  • Codsworth: updated description to indicate that it reduces all energy damage dealt by robots by 10% rather than increasing resistance by 10. Now also lets you salvage more components from slain robots and scales with the Scrapper perk.
  • Curie: now also grants 50% damage reduction for 10 seconds after activation.
  • Deacon: fixed stacking issues with other perks so that it no longer matters in which order any of the perks are taken.
  • Hancock: now confers a random bonus to one SPECIAL stat and one of either HP/AP/DR/ER for 10 minutes when consuming chems as long as the player has at least 250 Rads or Ghoulish R1. (Bonuses work as follows; SPECIAL stats can roll 2-10 in increments of 2 and other STATS can roll 25-75 in increments of 5. After the effect fades, consuming another chem will re-roll both bonuses at random.)
  • Nick: now grants 15% penetration of robot and synth resistances.
  • Piper: increases charisma by 2 and the exp bonus of speech checks and location discoveries from 2x to 5x.
  • Strong: now grants a 10% melee and unarmed damage bonus at all times which increases to 30% when health drops to 40% or less.
  • X6-88: now also increases Institute Laser weapon damage by 40%.
  • Gage: increased experience per kill bonus from 5% to 10% and updated the description to indicate that the damage resistance component also includes energy resistance.

Bug Fixes:

  • Curie's perk will now properly trigger at 10% health.
  • Gunslinger Rank 5 now appropriately checks for non-automatic pistols.
  • Nuclear Physicist now provides the correct bonuses to Power Armor battery consumption.
  • Lady Killer & Black Widow intimidation bonuses are now being properly factored into the bonus chance granted by this line of perks.
  • Iron Fist Rank 5 is no longer bugged when attacking in VATS while wearing Power Armor. Previously the main character would stand there with no animation.
  • Pain Train Rank 3 now properly applies the impact damage bonus. Fixed issue with this rank not dealing damage.
  • Heavy Gunner Rank 5 now properly indicates that it also has increased stagger chance.
  • Basher Rank 4 now properly grants increased cripple chance as was indicated in the description.
  • Rooted was missing the unarmed keyword.
  • Ricochet no longer triggers on nearby friendlies unless they turn hostile to the player.
  • Periodic damage from over-encumbrance no longer affects the player when using the Power Armor Station.
  • SPECIAL stats can be increased to 11 regardless of when you pick up a SPECIAL bobblehead.

Pain Train: bonuses include Rusty Knuckles, Hydraulic Bracers, Tesla Bracers, and Overdrive Servos which all add flat damage. Motion-Assist Servos increases the damage of Pain Train by 20%.

Holotape:

You will be provided a "Cyan's Perk Mod [Settings]" holotape which will provide some options for enabling and disabling some of the perk effects in the game, specifically for Big Leagues, Lead Belly, Fortune Finder, and Moving Target. If you lose the holotape, you can make a new one at any chemistry workbench. The option to craft it will only show if you do not already have one.

Survival:

In the provided holotape there is a survival setting that you can toggle that will reduce the damage bonuses from perks like Big Leagues and Commando by 50%, granting 10% bonus damage instead of the usual 20% for an additional challenge.

Combat Health Regen provided by Lifegiver and Solar Powered scale from 10% effectiveness up to 50% based on Adrenaline levels.
