Our October AI calendar image depicts growth and life, even in harsh surroundings, beautifully represented by intricate patterns and fractals. This image reminds us of the resilience of trees🌲. Their roots anchor deep, weathering storms, while their leaves reach for the sun even in the harshest of conditions. This unwavering spirit aligns with Sappi’s vision of a thriving world, where nature’s resilience and human ingenuity intertwine to create sustainable solutions.  #ShapesOfSappi

Have you heard about the Cepi bioeconomy lab? 🌱🔍 The event took place yesterday in Brussels exploring some of the best routes and solutions for creating a bio-based circular economy in Europe – to the benefit of all its citizens 🧑🏾🤝🧑🏻. We were there highlighting the important role that innovation in bio-based recyclable packaging solutions – using woodfibre sourced from sustainably managed forests – has to play in this. Most obviously, when fossil-derived flexible packaging solutions (for example sachets, pouches and more) are replaced by renewably sourced, fibre-based solutions there are benefits both to the creation of a bio-based circular economy and to reaching the EU’s climate neutrality targets. But there’s more. At Sappi, we’re already developing further innovations such as fibre-based textiles for clothing and the use of the cellulose from wood fibre to replace fossil-based chemicals in cosmetics. Why do we think this is so important? Because at Sappi we’ve made it our business to unlock the power of renewable resources to meet the needs and seed the prosperity of all. Have you visited the Cepi Bioeconomy Lab? What did you think of what you saw there? #Bioeconomy #Cepi #Sappi

Sappi has been recognised as one of TIME and Statista’s “World’s Best Companies of 2024,” ranking at number 623 out of 1000. Being one of only four South African companies and one of only a few global pulp, paper and packaging companies to make this esteemed list highlights the significant impact Sappi has on the South African and global stage. I had a wonderful time yesterday at #LabelexpoAmericas2024, talking about creating value with packaging by designing and producing packaging that captivates on the shelf and creates an experience. A haptic experience is essential for both as well as for maximizing the ROI of packaging (proven in the results of a new study by Sappi North America and Clemson University).   Many thanks to Labelexpo, Sappi, Patti Groh, and Estefanie F.. There were so many other great people I saw and some LinkedIn friends I even met in person for the first time! Truly, there are too many amazing people to list in a post, so I’ll just express my gratitude for each and every person I spoke to at the expo. You were all wonderful and insightful, and I’m so grateful to be in this industry with you. #packagingdesign #design #ROI #haptics
