What a BIG two weeks! Now that the dust has settled, we’ve had some time to reflect. Below are some key takeaways for us from the Gippsland New Energy Conference #GNEC2024 and the Clean Energy Council Australian Wind Industry Summit #AWIS: 💥Partnerships and communities are at the centre of the offshore wind industry. The launch of Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation (GLaWAC)'s Pathways to Partnerships document will pave the way for meaningful engagement with Traditional Custodians across Gippsland, Victoria and Australia. 💥New industries mean doing things differently. We’re excited to see what the Gippsland Offshore Wind Alliance #GOWA, launched at GNEC, will be able to achieve in coordinating and driving offshore wind forward. 💥#Offshorewind will be a key part of our future energy mix, and Victoria is leading the way in creating the frameworks and environment to support this industry. 💥Transitions and change can be challenging at times, but Gippsland has such a strong network of community and industry helping to navigate the change and realise the opportunities. 💥Collaboration is key. No one developer can build an industry on their own. We need to collaborate to achieve the best possible outcomes for all. All in all, we’re feeling grateful to be able to sponsor and attend events like this. What a great industry to be a part of! Did you attend GNEC or AWIS? What were your key takeaways? 👇 Gippsland Climate Change Network Inc. Clean Energy Council #offshorewind #renewableenergy #partnerships

🌟 We are excited to have participated for the second time in a row in the Australia Wind Energy 2024 Conference, the largest wind energy conference and exhibition in #Australia, at the 📍 Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. 🙋🏼♂️Nick Sankey, Country Manager Australia at BlueFloat Energy, joined the Opening Panel 'Considerations for Entering Australia's Wind Industry - An International Investor's Perspective' at the Unlocking Wind Capital Summit. Nick shared, 💬"The offshore wind industry in Australia is a unique opportunity to bring global expertise to a new market with reliable policy settings, a clear pathway for transitioning away from fossil fuels and growing electricity demand. These projects will not only build a new industry in Australia, but also local jobs, regional investment and domestic capacity building.” 🙋🏼♀️deb neumann, Head of Environment & Planning Australia at BlueFloat Energy, participated in the panel ‘Synergies between Wind and Environmental Consents’ at the Strategic Summit. Deb emphasized, 💬 "Offshore wind will deliver significant benefits from a net zero perspective, but we also need to make sure these projects adequately meet strict standards to protect the environment and biodiversity. We will need to conduct several years of studies to understand the marine and terrestrial environment, and design our projects in a way that does not interrupt these ecosystems.” BlueFloat Energy Australia is at the forefront of the #offshorewind industry in Australia. Our projects in Victoria and New South Wales are key to the nation's energy transition, driving decarbonization and regional economic growth. We remain committed to consulting and collaborating with local communities, including Traditional Owners, fishers, and regional stakeholders, to ensure our projects are developed sustainably and beneficially for all. Looking forward to the upcoming updates from Pierre-Antoine Tetard, our Chief Commercial Officer and Executive VP APAC at BlueFloat Energy, who will be visiting Australia next week as part of his executive trip to some of our key APAC markets 🎯. Pierre-Antoine will meet the BlueFloat Energy Australia team as well as key stakeholders, including the Victorian government's Offshore Wind Energy Victoria (OWEV) and the Port of Hastings facility. #AuWE2024 #WindEnergy #OffshoreWind #RenewableEnergy #EnergyTransition #Australia

🔔 In case you missed it 🔔 The Australian Government has declared an area off the Illawarra coast as suitable for offshore renewables. The declared area takes into account feedback from the community and other stakeholders, and as a result is 20km from shore at the closest point. It has the potential to generate up to 2.9GW of electricity and create up to 1,740 jobs during construction and 870 ongoing jobs.
