Among much excitement, the new Redlands Medicare Mental Health Centre was officially opened yesterday by the Hon Emma McBride Federal Assistant Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention. Run by Footprints Community, the centre provides an open door approach, welcoming anyone from the Redlands region to walk in and receive free and respectful mental health information and support. About 40 people attended the opening, including additional speakers: Brisbane South PHN CEO, Mike Bosel; and our Chief Operations Officer, Ed Zarnow. Also, in attendance to show support were the Hon Amanda Stoker MP, QLD Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training; Redlands Mayor Jos Mitchell, and Councillor Paul Bishop. We thank Uncle Norm Enoch, from the Quandamooka People, for his Welcome to Country, our centre’s Program Manager, Chris Trupp for being the MC and our centre’s co-locator, the Wesley Mission for their support. This initiative is supported by Brisbane South PHN through funding provided by the Australian Government as part of the $360 million plan to expand free, walk-in mental health services across Australia. #FootprintsCommunity #BetterTogether #mentalhealth #mentalhealthsupport #goodmentalhealth #mentalhealthbrisbane #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthmattersforall #gottaloveredlands #redlandstogether Image Description: 1 - Hon Emma McBride MP with the Redlands Medicare Mental Health Team 2 - Brisbane South PHN CEO Mike Bosel, Hon Emma McBride MP, Hon Amanda Stoker MP and Redlands Mayor Jos Mitchell 3 - Hon Emma McBride MP and Redlands Mayor Jos Mitchell with the Medicare Mental Health Team cutting the ribbon 4 - Uncle Norm Enoch of the Quandamooka people delivering a Welcome to Country 5 - Hon Emma McBride MP speaking at the opening of the Redlands Medicare Mental Health Centre 6 - Brisbane South PHN CEO Mike Bosel speaking at the opening of the Redlands Medicare Mental Health Centre 7 - Footprints Community COO Edward Zarnow speaking at the opening of the Redlands Medicare Mental Health Centre 8 - Guests enjoying morning tea at the opening of the Redlands Medicare Mental Health Centre
