The Brisbane Olympics might be dominating the headlines today, but how we will pay for it? Queensland’s resources sector will provide the foundations to deliver this major international event through materials and economic contributions. The State needs long term prosperity and stability to deliver, which means more investment in existing and new resources projects. It was pleasing to hear Minister Dale Last discuss the government’s plans to progress the sector by streamlining approvals and reducing regulatory burden at the QRC and SAS Group Resources Media Club lunch. Thanks to Minister Last for his speech and to all the industry representatives who came along to the support the event. #QRC #SASGroup #Queensland #Qld #Resources #Media #Club #Olympics

The government is at a critical juncture and it's time to turn around the mistakes of the past. Mining brings about more contributions to the state than any other industry. When our sector is strong, so is Queensland. Past decisions are now being realised with Queensland losing GST revenue to other Australian states. Our state is being penalised due to our strong resources sector, and mining companies are feeling the weight of the World's highest coal royalties. Striking the right policy balance is needed to protect Queensland and our future prosperity. Read more about how coal royalties factor into GST determinations here 👉https://lnkd.in/gwn7pFtv #QRC #Queensland #Qld #Policy
