Meet Jeff... always pictured with his trusty hat and a pair of secateurs 🙌 Jeff Clarke is our Maintenance Officer, looking after our Mile End headquarters so everything’s in tip-top shape for our staff and members. We have so many amazing unsung heroes of RAA that work behind the scenes to make everything work and continue to deliver for our members, and we look forward to sharing more through our social platforms. Thanks for all the work you do Jeff (always with a smile, of course) - Mile End wouldn’t be the same without you! Dorothy Nycz Vanessa Elmslie #SouthAustralia #Maintenance #Team

About us
We’re proud to be one of South Australia’s most iconic brands, trusted by members for more than 120 years. SA born-and-bred, RAA might be best known for our road service and insurance products, but we’re excited to be continuously diversifying to better help our members and community. Our goal? To make life better for South Australians. That’s why we’re proud to offer a range of services to our 820,000+ members, including travel, energy, solar and battery, electric vehicle charging, our RAA Rewards program and more. With motoring still a priority, we’re just as passionate as we were in 1903 about road safety, advocating for a safer SA into the future. We’re also one of the state’s largest employers, with more than 1300 employees working across our local sites at Mile End, RAA Place (CBD) and Adelaide Airport and our many retail and travel shops. With new office spaces in the city and city fringe in the works, and a buzzing people-first culture, we’re proud to be the State’s #1 Employer Brand.

Happy Lunar New Year – the celebration of the new Chinese year and the Year of the Snake 🐍 Lunar New Year is celebrated across the globe, with each culture adding its unique touch. In China, it’s called the Spring Festival, in Vietnam, the celebration is known as Tet, in Korea, families observe Seollal by paying respect to ancestors and enjoying traditional games. Our team at our Mile End headquarters enjoyed some delicious, themed cafe specials including pork in plum sauce, chicken chow mien noodles and spring rolls (YUM!). Our RAA Place team experienced an interactive Lunar New Year Fortune Wall, thanks to our concierge at 91KW. Kimberly Mehta (one of our fabulous Member Experience Coordinators) shared some photos with us from her family celebrations in Perth – thanks for sharing, Kim! In the second photo, Kim and her brother gave red packets to her parents as a sign of respect and a token of good health and abundance to them. If you’re looking for ways to celebrate, Chinatown is hosting a New Year Street Party on Saturday 8 February from 12pm to 9.30pm. #LunarNewYear #Team #SouthAustralia Laura Schonfeldt, Sonia Manser, Pippa Sicolo, Yvette French

What does this coming Sunday – 26 January – mean to our people and community? We acknowledge that for some, including many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, it’s a day that represents sadness and conflict. This year, and as we evolve in our Reconciliation journey, we decided to commemorate the day with a video – with four of our people (and stakeholders) sharing impacting words on what the date means to them. Shared with our members via SA Move and with our people internally, we hope this video allows you to reflect and think about how a date can mean different things to different people, and in ways you may not have considered. Together, we believe education and knowledge sharing is so important, and we are incredibly grateful to our Reconciliation Working Group, our partner Tjindu Foundation Foundation and Reconciliation SA for all your support and guidance. Nothing’s out of the picture for our Video and Production team (pun intended). Wil Stevens, Michael Lockheart and Harry Mead were all-hands-on-deck for a photoshoot showcasing our new child restraints coming online to our Child Safety Centre. This team is quite the busy bunch - photographing and filming content for sa move, capturing our various community, staff and member events, as well as then editing all the content (they love Adobe Premiere Pro). You’ll soon see these 30 new child restraint products on our website (shout-out to our fabulous Child Safety Centre team lead by Aaron Wilson, Michelle Wolf, Samantha Del Vescovo). Very few people spend their entire working years at one organisation. Trish Clark is celebrating over 40 years at RAA – and we’re feeling incredibly proud, not only because this is a HUGE milestone for Trish, but also because this directly reflects our career growth opportunities, flexibility, perks and culture at RAA. In 1984, Trish (who was 17 at the time) joined RAA at our Hindmarsh Square shop in our Touring Department at the time, working as a Touring Consultant. Today, Trish is our Facilities Team Leader, which involves looking after all incoming and outgoing mail, being responsible for Property and Facilities accounts for all our locations and being a team leader to our Reception and the Facilities maintenance role. When Trish was asked her highlights and favourite memories at RAA, a few things came to mind (apart from receiving her pay in cash!): “Before commencing at RAA, the touring team invited me to their Christmas team party, so I went along on the Friday night before I started on the Monday – a wonderful beginning.” “In my early days, we had many trips away to educate ourselves on touring packages, so we could then advise members with their upcoming travel plans.” “I’ve made life-long friendships – some from 40 years ago that I continue today.” “Undoubtedly, the most rewarding part of my journey at RAA has been the wonderful people I have been lucky to meet throughout my time.” “It’s also been great working for an organisation that allows us to challenge and contribute to the way we do things to ensure we are always delivering and improving.” “People bring the best memories”. Thanks for sharing Trish – congratulations on 40 years of service. Dorothy Nycz, Damien Williams, Vanessa Elmslie #Team #SouthAustralia #Milestone
