On Saturday, we took to the streets of Adelaide for the annual Pride March event! We’re incredibly proud of the many team members who volunteered their time to support our South Australian LGBTQIA+ community, donning their best outfits of course 💛 A huge shout-out to Marcel Elfouani, MAITD, Pippa Sicolo and John Heddle for helping put this event together – an important event in our RAA calendars. We’re excited to continue our support as advocates for inclusion and belonging both within our team and in the community. Our Snowtown RAA Charge site has been recognised as the best EV charging station in AUSTRALIA by the Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA) 🎉     Our 200kW ultra-rapid charging site at Perry’s Roadhouse on the Augusta Highway was selected for its high-level amenities including undercover shelter, good lighting, priority bays for drivers with a disability, a pull-through bay for EVs towing trailers and caravans, and a 7kW back-up charger.     We’re feeling incredibly proud of our RAA Charge team, led by Ben Owen, Andrew Howard and Anita Saunders, for setting the gold-standard for charging sites nationally. Yesterday, we celebrated the end of the school year for the talented Tjindu Foundation students 🙌 We are so proud and grateful of our community partnership with Tjindu Foundation, helping to drive positive outcomes for Aboriginal children and young people in South Australia. The annual Tjindu Foundation graduation celebrates student successes while farewelling the year 12s in the company of Tjindu families, board members and partners (us included!). Our Chief People Officer, Laura Schonfeldt presented the Aboriginal AFL Academy Student of the Year award to Joel Hill – recognising his exceptional applications of Tjindu’s values and beliefs. We’re also excited to have Tjindu graduates join our team as part of our Summer Internship Program, welcoming Tatum and Crystal into the program this coming summer. Did you know we have qualified teachers in our team? Today, we’re celebrating our community educators for World Teachers Day 🎉 Shout-out to Ben Haythorpe, David Fairlie, Christina Swain, Libby Thomas, Tony Ey, Mike Chemny and Sally Hayward in our community education team for your incredible work shaping the skills and knowledge of road users of ALL ages. We teach South Aussies at the beginning of their primary school education as part of our Street Smart Primary program right up to our senior road users who may require a refresher on current road rules through our Years Ahead program. These programs (taught to some of our most vulnerable road users), aim to improve road safety in our state to reduce injuries and save lives on our roads. Keep up the great work, team! Today, we’re celebrating United Nations Day! 🙌    We’re proud to be a UN Global Compact participant – the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative aimed at getting companies to take action to advance societal goals.       As an organisation, we have adopted the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework to guide our sustainability initiatives, working towards. dignity, peace, and prosperity for the planet.      We know the only way sustainability goals will be achieved is for organisations to work together collaboratively, and the UN Global Compact is a great initiative to enable this.    Earlier this year, we delivered in collaboration with Committee for Adelaide's SA Zero a public forum on overcoming barriers to decarbonising fleet transport – an example of just one of our commitments to the SDGs framework.     We’ll continue sharing our sustainability and social responsibility initiatives with you.     #UnitedNations #Sustainability #UnitedNationsDay     Nick Reade, Emily Perry, Grace Jennings, Lisa Hall, Amanda Hudson
