Back to school means back to making daily lunchboxes 📚 This year, join the 'Nude Food' movement by ditching the cling wrap and packing lunchboxes with reusable containers and wraps. Think reusable, not disposable. 🥗🌱 Plus, why not walk, ride or scooter to school if you can, or carpool with other families to reduce your carbon footprint. Let's make this school year both sustainable and fun. 🚶♀️🚲 #BackToSchool #NudeFood #SustainableLiving #GreenChoices #EPA

Opposite Day: Imagine a world without the EPA 🚨 Today is Opposite Day, where we stop and think about what the world will be like if the opposite of everything happened. Let’s take a moment to think about some of the things that could happen if we didn't do our crucial work... 🧐 🔴Air pollution: There would be less regulations on emissions from industry, leading to increased pollution and a significant negative impact on our environment. 🔴Water pollution: Without the EPA, our precious rivers, lakes, and oceans could become severely impacted with industrial pollution and waste. The consequences would be devastating to natural biodiversity, agricultural productivity, tourism and community well-being. 🔴Site Contamination: Legacy site contamination issues from past industrial and waste disposal practices wouldn’t be addressed and would make land unsuitable for its use for both people and the environment now and into the future. #EPA #OppositeDay #Pollution #Waste #SiteContamination #EnvironmentProtection

🌍📚 On #UNESCOWorldEducationDay, we’re celebrating the power of education to drive positive change, especially in the fields of conservation, sustainability, and land management. In South Australia, a wide range of projects and programs are making an impact, with contributions from local, state, and national agencies. 🌱 From soil health monitoring by the Department for Environment and Water (DEW), to innovative carbon farming legislation, to the co-management of national parks with Aboriginal communities, every effort counts. 💚 Sustainable practices are being promoted through industry and community-driven initiatives like Ag Excellence Alliance, Sustainable Winegrowing Australia, and local universities researching climate and biodiversity solutions. 🌿🌏 Through collaboration with conservation groups, Indigenous Ranger Programs, and citizen science, South Australia is leading the way in protecting our land, water, and biodiversity. Together, we can create a more sustainable and educated future for all. 💡 Learn more about these projects here: https://ow.ly/5Qkz50UMhtU #Sustainability #Conservation #Biodiversity #SouthAustralia #EnvironmentalEducation #WorldEducationDay

Enjoy a safe and clean summer in South Australia! 🏖️ The summer holidays are here, and it's the perfect time to head to our beautiful beaches, parks, and outdoor events. Let’s make sure we keep them clean and safe for everyone to enjoy. Here are some top tips for preventing litter and staying fire-safe during your summer adventures: Litter prevention tips for summer: 🚮 Bring a reusable bag for rubbish – don’t leave it behind on the sand or grass 🚮 Use bins or take it home if bins are full – every piece counts. 🚮 Say no to single-use plastics – pack reusable or compostable options. 🚮 Clean up after your pet – always carry waste bags. BBQ safety: 🔥 Know the rules – check local regulations before starting a BBQ (permits may be needed). 🔥Never leave fires unattended – always supervise your BBQ. 🔥Use designated BBQ areas – ensure you’re in the right spot for a safe fire. 🔥 Extinguish fires properly – douse with water and make sure the fire is fully out before leaving.
