🌱 Being a company with a real impact on sustainability in Europe is the guiding principle of the Walloon company Composil. 📍 Based in Wavre, Composil specializes in cleaning and maintaining carpets 🧼. For the past few years, the company has been developing a range of second-hand carpet tiles 🔄. 📖 https://lnkd.in/eGTcat5i ♻️ 250,000 square meters of carpets have already been reused and recycled by Composil in Belgium and internationally in just a year and a half 🌍. ✅ Already present in Luxembourg and France, Composil aims to further internationalize by setting up a franchise system 🤝. 🚀As a prelude to the KIKK Festival, the wake! tour took place in Mons, Namur and Liège, enabling foreign delegations to discover Wallonia's “Creative Tech Valley”. 🌍✨ 🏙️These three cities feature in the European ranking for cultural dynamism and creative economy according to the monitoring of cultural and creative cities. 🎉In Mons, European Capital of Culture in 2015, participants met at the LeClick for demonstrations and round-table discussions, notably on museums in the digital age. 🖼️📱 After theory, it was time for practice. 🌱 ABIM - Annual Biocontrol Industry Meeting opened its doors in Basel today. Wallonia Export & Investment Agency has a collective stand in it with 8 promising #Walloon companies from the #biocontrol sector who have come to present their products, accompanied by Wagralim, the Agri-Food Innovation Cluster of Wallonia, IIS Digibiocontrol and the Walloon working group @Agrobiocare. 📘 "#Wallonia is far ahead of #biosolutions, but the European regulatory environment is not favourable to their development. It takes a very long time for small companies to get product registration, the return on investment is potentially very slow, so it's important for us to support those companies and keep them with us. They are proactively contributing to a more sustainable system," says Yuan CHAI, International Affairs at Wagralim, the Agri-Food Innovation Cluster of Wallonia. For Hervé Legros, Chief Operating Officer at Redebel Regulatory Affairs - RRA, "There are two major challenges in the sector: 1) Accessibility to the market due to the cumbersome and lengthy regulatory #procedures (approval of active ingredients, field tests) and  2) Is the market ready? The approach to biocontrol products is different for the entire crop cycle: you have to think carefully about which product to use, for what purpose and when.
