☔️ When floods hit a small village in Slovenia, an urban design studio stepped in to reimagine the future—together with the community! In August 2023, 🇸🇮 Slovenia faced its worst floods in recent history, leaving devastation in their wake. Non-profit design studio Prostorož responded quickly, launching project EmMa (Emergency Makeover) to support the village of Žerjav in northern Slovenia. Working closely with the small community of 300 inhabitants, EmMa focused on their local needs, 🚲 mobility habits, and the natural qualities ⛰️ of the Žerjav valley. The result? A thoughtful design concept that enhances existing spaces, restores the Jazbinski stream, improves connections to the regional cycling route, and strengthens the village’s future.
