Urine can be a challenging sample to work with, but we are excited by what we have achieved with our platform to be able to easily detect pathogens and deliver PCR quality results in a low-cost, disposable format for consumers.

A new study conducted by Quest Diagnostics in collaboration with the University of Alabama has revealed significant gaps in the testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among pregnant women in the United States. These findings underscore the critical need for improved adherence to guidelines for STI testing during pregnancy. Untreated chlamydia and gonorrhea can lead to serious health risks for both mothers and newborns, including infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease, and the transmission of infections to the infant during birth, potentially causing conditions such as conjunctivitis and pneumonia. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported that cases of sexually transmitted diseases are at an all-time high, with more than 2.5 million cases of syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia reported in the United States in 2022. 🚀 Exciting News from Testmate Health! 🚀 We are thrilled to announce the successful closing of our $6 million funding round led by RH Capital to continue our development of the first at-home rapid test for sexually transmitted infections (STIs)! This significant milestone will enhance the development of Testmate’s first-of-its-kind, low-cost, over-the-counter diagnostic urine test. Starting with detecting chlamydia and gonorrhea, our at-home test will provide fast, confidential, and reliable results.
