A Swiss company giving waste a value and turning 100% ocean-bound plastic into safe, useful products.
Info
From plastic waste to powerful products Every year, more than 12 million tons of plastic trash land in the ocean. #tide has teamed up with multiple partner organisations to collect and reuse what already exists. We are a provider of recycled ocean-bound plastics for sustainable products. Sourced through our regionalized supply chain and driven by social impact. The result is an award-winning material that comes in the form of recycled plastic pellets for plastic injection, recycled polyester yarn for textile applications, and recycled plastic filament for 3D printing. #tide ocean material® can be applied to an endless variety of durable products: from watches to furniture, automotive parts to apparel, consumer electronics to carpets or sports floors and construction. #tide's recycled ocean-bound plastic has been used to create high-quality products by reputable brands such as Migros, Kvadrat, Maurice Lacroix, Tom Ford, Hugo Boss or Winter & Company. Our granular material has been developed and tested in partnership with the Institute for Materials Technology and Plastics Processing (IWK), a branch of the University of Applied Sciences (Ostschweizer Fachhochschule) in Rapperswil, Switzerland. We believe it is our duty to take action where it is most desperately needed. We give value to plastic waste.

🌍 Driving Towards a Circular Economy in the Automotive Industry 🚗 In 2023 alone, 94 million new vehicles were produced globally. Plastic is the second most used material in vehicles after metal, with an average car containing 150-200 kg of plastic. The demand for lightweight materials in low emission vehicles is expected to increase the percentage of plastic in vehicles. This makes it all the more important that recycled and recyclable plastics are used, as required by upcoming laws such as the End-of-life Vehicles Regulation and the European Green Deal. Transitioning to circularity in the automotive industry presents challenges due to stringent safety, quality, and performance standards. However, real use cases demonstrate that technology can meet these requirements. For instance, #tide ocean material®#tide ocean material® and Motherson Innovations developed an instrument panel using mechanically recycled ocean-bound polypropylene, proving that large plastic components in automobiles can be replaced without compromising quality and safety. This project earned the 2024 Sustainability Award powered by STARTUP AUTOBAHN powered by Plug and Play in Stuttgart, Germany. Read our article to find out more about why the automotive industry needs to go circular! 🌿🔄 #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #AutomotiveIndustry #Recycling ♻️ #GreenDeal #Innovation #TideOceanMaterial #Motherson #CondorGroup #SustainableFuture
