When we started Matr Foods the vision was to create real impact. Impact requires scale and scaling food requires capital. Therefore we are over the moon to have signed a venture loan with the European Investment Bank (EIB) for 20 million € to enable the scaling of our production and company. Even as the first meat successor company ever to get their support 🍀 This is a major milestone for us that brings us a huge leap closer to our first large scale site that will enable us to create save over 100.000 tons of CO2 from European meals by giving chefs and consumers juicy natural #fungifood alternatives to meat. Craveable Fungi Futures. 🌱 Matr Foods in cooperation with DTU - Technical University of Denmark and Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen, has just been awarded € 800.000 for a joint project by The Plant-Based Food Grant (Plantefonden). The project will develop a number of new plant-based meat types based on a deeper understanding of the properties of Danish raw materials as well as the fermentation process. This shall contribute to overcoming the consumer's reservations towards choosing plant-based alternatives.
