The Circular Bioeconomy Research Group (CIRCBIO), is a multi-disciplinary team integrating expertise in bioresources, sustainability, sustainable resource management, business models and finance, green chemistry, biotechnology and biorefining. Based at the Shannon Applied Biotechnology Centre at Munster Technological University, CIRCBIO leads a wide range of European-funded circular bioeconomy research initiatives, such as ICT-BIOCHAIN, BIOSWITCH, INGREEN, AgriForValor, AgroBridges and COOPID, and nationally funded circular economy projects such as Biorefinery Glas, Farm Zero C and EfficientFood. In addition, ITT's Circular Bioeconomy Research Group leads delivery of Ireland’s first postgraduate programme in Bioeconomy alongside UCD and Teagasc. CIRCBIO are leading the recently funded EI Circular Bioeconomy Cluster South-West.

🌿Last Tuesday, on 15th of October, we were thrilled to see such lively discussions and engagement at the #BioeconomyIrelandWeek2024 where the ROBIN project #BetaValidationWorkshop took place at the Southern Regional Assembly in Waterford! The workshop brought together a diverse group of stakeholders from different regions, each offering unique insights and perspectives on sustainable bioeconomy solutions 🌱, as well as valuable policy insights 📜 to help shape the future of the Irish bioeconomy sector.
