📍Chester Zoo Unilin Insulation worked alongside SIG Design and Technology and TaperedPlus to deliver a U-value of 0.18W/m²K and meet Building Regulation Part L2 in Chester Zoo’s Café. The installation of TR/MG allowed the reopening of the café to customers after being forced shut multiple times due to water entering the building through the old roof. TR/MG is a Polyisocyanurate with glass fibre facers from out Thin-R range and is suitable for use below single ply fully adhered roof membranes, single ply waterproofing systems and partially bonded built-up felt. On Thursday, February 6th, Donna Seward, Specification Manager at Unilin Insulation, will present at the RIBA CPD Expo in Birmingham, The CPD is titled ‘From Regulations to RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge targets & accounting for embodied carbon’ and runs from 12:00 - 13:00. This CPD focuses on providing an overview of the Part L 2021 edition and the proposed Future Homes Standard performance requirements. There is also an introduction to the RIBA Climate Challenge 2030 and an outline of the target criteria including embodied carbon. The presentation aims to inform attendees about the process and conventions involved in a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Due to the onset of Storm Éowyn, which is due to hit Ireland in the early hours of Friday morning, a country-wide red alert warning has been issued. All Unilin Insulation deliveries for Friday 24th of January within Ireland has been postponed until next week.
