We work with partners around the world in various underserved communities to help with empowering the vulnerable and disadvantaged. We also serve as a conduit for the QI Group's employee volunteering programme, facilitating initiatives in local communities where the Group has a presence. RYTHM Foundation is registered as a non-profit in Hong Kong. In Malaysia, the Foundation's local chapter, Vijayaratnam Foundation, implements our programmes in the country. While the endless discussions on gender equality and closing the gender gap are definitely an indicator of progress, these conversations often circle back to the age-old question: WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT? 🤔 In her recent piece on The Star Media Group Berhad, RYTHM Foundation Chairperson Datin Sri Umayal Eswaran pondered the cultural barriers and prevailing mindsets that have eroded women’s voices for generations, and outlines what must happen for us to dismantle the structures that perpetuate violence and prevent progress. As this article is behind a paywall, we’ve put together a quick and easy breakdown below! 👇🏽 For those subscribed to The Star: https://lnkd.in/gdwqGNHk #RiseWithRYTHM #GenderEquality #WomenEmpowerment #InclusionMatters

Earlier this year, John Burn-Murdoch, the chief data reporter for the Financial Times, drew attention to the widening ideological gap between young men and women. While young women are increasingly embracing progress and inclusivity, young men in various countries around the world are, concerningly, headed in the opposite direction. The potential ramifications of this disparity may hinder us from achieving a just, peaceful, and equitable society. This year’s #WorldYouthSkillsDay highlights the critical role that the youth play in peacebuilding and conflict resolution. It’s clear that we must bridge this growing divide with a skills development agenda that goes beyond vocational training, especially in impoverished communities. We revisit our own efforts in the state of Maharashtra in India with Mann Deshi Youth Champions, a 360-degree development programme that makes education accessible for underprivileged girls in their teens to early 20s who hope to enter civil service, healthcare, and law. Along with cultivating communication and critical thinking skills, this programme is designed to shape these young women into ethical, empathetic, and encouraging future leaders. Discrimination and exclusion remain a challenge worldwide, influenced by social and cultural norms in various regions. In our latest #RiseWithRYTHM video, we asked people of different backgrounds about what makes their life great, and how they would feel if they were prevented access to basic human necessities because of their background, identity, race, and gender. After all, to change the narrative for excluded and marginalised communities, we must recognise our shared humanity, dismantle any unconscious biases we may hold, and acknowledge that if circumstances were different, it could be us struggling in their shoes. #WhatIf #InclusionMatters #EducationForAll #GenderEquality #CommunityDevelopment
