As part of our ongoing commitment to address the food & nutrition inequities countless families face nationwide, we're excited to award Junior Chef Deniasha Burton of Baltimore, MD our Grand Prize winner of the 2024 "Nutritious is Delicious Cook-Off" as part of our Sunshine For All Cities™ Program.
Burton joined two other junior culinary standouts from regional competitions at Boys & Girls Club locations in Merced, CA and Jackson, MS in competing in the finals event at the Dole Packaged Foods US Headquarters in Westlake Village, CA on Friday, June 28. Judged by dignified program supporters including renowned chefs and restaurant industry leaders, the competition was part of Dole's commitment to increase access to delicious, quality fruit nationwide as part of the Sunshine For All Cities™ Program.

Last week, we had the honor to host three talented young chefs in our Westlake Village office for the Sunshine For All Cities Nutritious is Delicious Cook-Off: Deniasha Burton of Baltimore, MD, Daleyza Angulo of Merced, CA and Caylee Boyd of Jackson, MI. These three girls were crowned regional champions in their local Boys & Girls Clubs of America chapters and flown to CA for the finals.
Seeing our young chefs foster a passion for nutritious living and culinary pursuits is one of the many things we wanted kids to takeaway from the program. As part of our ongoing Dole Promise, this program aims to inspire a passion for nutritious living by providing more access to nutritious foods and providing hands-on instruction to cook healthier meals. All of this combined has helped over 110,000 families gain access to better nutrition and provided over 7.5 million servings of fruit to food insecure communities - an effort that has received recognition from the The White House Challenge To End Hunger

There’s no day better than #InternationalPineappleDay to kick off The Dole® Can It Pineapple Snack Hackathon, a three-week long contest seeking to find the next crave-worthy snack. After popularizing the Pineapple Upside Down Cake in a Dole-led recipe contest in 1925 inspiring generations to come, canned pineapple is already a beloved and well-understood ingredient, but its true snacking potential often goes unnoticed. It can be so much more than just an ingredient—it can be the centerpiece of an extraordinary snacking experience. So, Dole is asking consumers, "Can It Pineapple? Dole can! Can you?" when considering a unique creation to snack on.
Head over to @DoleSunshine on Instagram and on TikTok to submit your best snack hack using the hashtags #DoleSnackHackathonContest, #CanItPineapple. One grand prize winner will win: a two-night stay with one guest at any Staypineapple hotel, a supply of Dole canned pineapple and ultimate bragging rights. This week, we celebrated an important company milestone as we opened our doors to our new US headquarters in Westlake Village. With modern amenities, greenscapes, abundant natural light, plus indoor and outdoor collaboration areas, our Westlake Village associates are already taking advantage of the many new features of the office, including Dole snacks 🍍.
