The project transforms the historic Monk Bridge viaduct, an iconic 19th-century structure, into a vibrant 21st-century public park at the heart of a new community in Leeds. Viaduct Gardens is now a unique urban space with: • A high-level public park • Canal-side terraces • Residents’ courtyards • Sports courts & outdoor event spaces We’re proud that the landscape design highlights sustainable living and urban ecology, making the most of Leeds’ rich industrial heritage while creating meaningful connections to nature and the city. An amazing milestone was reached today with the opening of the Green Heart at Broadmarsh. Its taken a lot of hard work an effort, we've collaborated with some fantastic people along the way - and we finally get to take a stroll along this new cityscape. Sit back and enjoy the flowers! Working collaboratively with Townshend Landscape Architects, Willmott Dixon, Nottingham City Council, Pick Everard and local stakeholders.

Really pleased with how this one turned out at the University of Nottingham. What had been a bit of a Secret Garden has been re-invigorated for staff and students. Blending historic elements with contemporary design has resulted in a into a beautiful new space. Great fun was had in Birmingham last Friday for our annual Study trip. Great to see how the city has changed since we were there last as a whole practice in 2016! Glad we took this photo early doors...

2024 WINNER - Danny Codd has been announced as the winner of the inaugural Ares Design Award 2024 with his final year project The Lagoon city of Hull. The competition format was left intentionally loose to encourage the widest possible range of entries. Danny’s project was chosen as it demonstrates the crucial role of Landscape Architecture to tell positive stories of the future. His intent was to create a daring and revolutionary scheme transforming an ‘ordinary’ city into an exemplar for UK cities facing the impacts of climate change. We felt this was achieved, with his project showcasing great skill and knowledge across the discipline. It featured clear and concise brief development, thorough site analysis, and creative, comprehensive design responses. The work was presented beautifully, using a wide range of media and techniques to effectively communicate the vision. Niloufer Shahapur has been selected as Runner Up for her project of rewilding the Mersey, a stunning concept.
