📷 Project Completion 📷 Looking back at last year’s civil engineering projects, completing and handing over the Deep Water Terminal to Stornoway Port was one of the highlights. We constructed a new 195-metre-long combi-piled steel main berth quay wall with concrete cope and installed an open-piled concrete berthing dolphin, allowing the berth to be extended to 270 metres. Additionally, we constructed a 150-metre-long combi-piled steel linkspan berth quay wall with concrete cope. Since the inaugural docking of 'Ambition' at the new terminal, Stornoway Port completed a successful cruise year in 2024. The project also won the ‘Port Development Award’ at the 2024 British Ports Association Awards, recognising the planning, design, construction, and execution of the project, which will support long-term growth in the Outer Hebrides. • Employee Engagement Forum We are excited to announce that BMES recently held our inaugural Employee Engagement Forum, a landmark event where our dedicated site operatives had the chance to voice their views and opinions on all aspects of delivering M&E installations. This platform facilitated open dialogue and fostered an environment of continual improvement. Our Senior Management team used this forum to reinforce our core values of Quality, Service, and Honesty, while clearly outlining our targets. This direct communication ensures that every team member is aligned with our goals and understands the crucial role they play in our success. We remain committed to maintaining this level of engagement, encouraging our team to share insights and innovations that drive us forward. Together, we continue to strengthen a culture of inclusion and teamwork. A big thank you to everyone who attended and to Scottish Canals for providing the excellent event space and first-class lunch at the Wheel Room, Falkirk.
