Last week, Cogent Skills welcomed colleagues from Japan's Mitsubishi Research Institute Nuclear Innovation Group and Beccy Pleasant Programme Director of the Nuclear Sector Skills Team to our Warrington office, to compare approaches to the nuclear sector's skills needs between Japan and the UK. 🤝 During the meeting, a wide range of topics were discussed including Labour Market Intelligence delivered by Cogent Skills, skills training for new sector entrants, the pipeline of young people interested in nuclear careers, sector marketing, and redeployment measures. ✍ Understanding the UK's approach to collaboration between the sector and government through the National Nuclear Strategic Plan for Skills, was a key discussion point due to the Japanese government's policy on growth for their nuclear sector. The visit provided great insights for both parties, and we look forward to further joint working between the two nations as the respective sectors develop. 🎉 #NuclearSkills #NetZeroNeedsNuclear #CogentSkills #CareerinNuclear #NuclearSkillsPlan
