Yesterday morning, we asked the question ‘can you really do more with less stuff in workplaces?’ during a co-hosted a breakfast seminar with SPACE on workplace sustainability from a right-sizing and materials perspective. Presenting in Insights' Dundee office, which is a stellar example of how three buildings can become two without compromising on sustainability or workplace environment. Sophie Simpson shared the plans for our new Edinburgh office, focusing on the importance of adhering to the circular economy principles, the net zero targets set by the Scottish Government, and best practices in decarbonising fit-outs. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us, and a special thank you to Chris Carr for co-presenting, Stephanie Stonebridge for hosting us, and Phil Muir for chairing the Q&A. We were delighted to receive so many insightful questions which helped answered the all-important question – yes, you really can do more with less! #Workplace #Rightsizing #ScottishNetZeroTargets #Retrofitting

Kurraba Group’s Life Sciences Campus is designed to meet the growing demand for laboratories and research facilities for Australia’s emerging life sciences sector. Our #Sustainability team has been providing advisory support since the concept design phase. We helped inform the competitive design competition, developed the sustainability strategy, and provided sustainable design advice and reporting for the project’s planning application. Hannah Morton, Sustainability Associate Director, said: “The campus’ vision fuses innovative architecture, Indigenous wisdom, and sustainability, all while providing a platform for advancing the next generation of scientific discoveries.” Learn more about Australia’s first commercial life sciences campus: https://lnkd.in/eWmCAAaa #LifeSciences #Innovation #SustainableDesign

Last week, Yvonne McNally and Simon Wyatt hosted a lunchtime seminar in Belfast discussing the pilot version of the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard. Having contributed to the standard along with others within Cundall, Simon discussed the standard, outlined set targets, and the impact it will have on design teams and projects across Northern Ireland. As a robust industry-backed initiative, the Standard presents itself as a handbook for policymakers, outlining what is needed to support the UK’s net zero carbon transition. Thank you to everyone who joined us, it was inspiring to see that our industry wants to understand how they can contribute towards net zero carbon design and build sustainable projects. #UKNZCBS #newindustrystandard
