We are pleased to announce that our project, Longley Place, has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Build to Rent Development’ category at this year’s Build to Rent Awards. Hosted by Love to Rent, the awards not only recognise exceptional projects in this sector but also highlight the importance of customer-centric design, sustainability and innovation in shaping the future of residential living in the UK. Developed by Legal & General, Longley Place provides a new architectural typology for the build-to-rent sector, comprising 209 apartments alongside 33,000 sq ft of flexible, co-working office space. Located in the heart of Brighton, the scheme also offers an abundance of hotel-style amenities, including a cinema room, lounge areas, a high-tech gym and three roof gardens that offer incredible views across the city. With double the number of entries compared to the inaugural event in 2023, it is wonderful to see the hard work of our Longley Place project team recognised. EPR’s design concept is rooted in the greenery of Nine Elms Park, balancing biophilia and organic materials with a light industrial aesthetic influenced by the area’s rich heritage. We are thrilled to announce that our project, Raffles London at The OWO, has won the prestigious accolade for ‘Hotel Design UK’ and ‘Hotel Suite Global’ at the design et al International Hotel & Property Awards 2024. Offering a global platform for leading architects and designers to showcase their recently completed work, the awards celebrate outstanding creativity and design excellence within the hospitality sector. Last week, EPR Board Director Geoff Hull and Associate Director Charlotte Partridge were honoured to accept these prizes on behalf of EPR’s incredible project team and the many other talented individuals involved in transforming Britain’s iconic Old War Office. Described by the judges as a ‘testament to exceptional design and collaboration’, Raffles London at The OWO sets a new precedent for luxury hospitality design. This week, as part of London Design Festival, OSMO Battersea - our sustainability-led, 13-storey office building developed by Quadrant - will host a vibrant array of exhibitions, workshops and installations by creatives living and working in Wandsworth. Running from the 14th to the 22nd of September, the festival explores topical issues and ideas shaping the industry at large, with sustainability, AI and inclusivity continuing to take centre stage. Be sure not to miss an exciting lineup of projects commissioned by Wandsworth Council on display in OSMO’s al fresco reception area, including the community-led installation ‘Voices of Wandsworth’ by Roopadesigns and an African fashion and textiles workshop by ethical designer, Fée Uhssi. Last week, EPR had the pleasure of hosting the W Programme’s Autumn Lecture in the hub of our London studio, All Saints. In partnership with The Architectural Review and the Architects’ Journal, the W Programme champions equality and diversity in architectural practice through networking and social events, mentoring sessions and insightful panel discussions. As long-standing partners of the programme, we were excited to welcome Manon Mollard, Editor of The Architectural Review, and acclaimed black feminist writer, Lola Olufemi, to the studio. The evening began with an opening address from EPR Project Director Giselle Shelton, setting the stage for a thought-provoking lecture by Lola that explored the relational possibilities inherent in feminist architectural practice – addressing the role and function of the imagination in building structures capable of sustaining liveable life. The evening concluded with drinks and networking, providing a chance for guests to connect and continue the conversation. We're delighted that the evening was a great success.
